I had no idea about the parallax study. That's interesting... and somewhat disappointing

Garand Thumb is great, all of his videos are no BS and well thought out.

I never understood why it was such a problem. Just flip up the BUIS and check the zero after changing locations. I would be more concerned about other Eotech issues than that one.

What do you think about Aimpoint's lies? They claim their optics are parallax free, which isn't true. Watch the video above (or skip to 5:30), you'll hear that in testing the T1 has over 12 moa parallax at 25 yards and 9 moa at 100 yards-that's double the moa of the thermal drift of the eotech at 100 yards (but eotech admitted there was a problem and bought back faulty units.) The T2 has significantly less parallax than the T1 at 2.5-3moa... which suggests to me that Aimpoint knew of an issue and made changes in the T2 to minimize it as much as possible... without ever admitting a problem. Parallax on eotech was the least of all the optics tested, starting at 1.5 moa at 25 yards to even less at 50 and zero at 100.

And for the record I own a T1, M4 and an MRO. No Eotechs (cashed mine in last year). If eotech really has reduced the thermal drift issue in the new units as mentioned in the video I wouldn't hesitate to own one again for the fact that its parallax is significantly less than other red dots.

L3 gave me MSRP, plus a generous shipping cost when I returned my EXPS. That was the last time I will fuck with them again.

I got the class action letter in the mail and threw it away.

I returned a XPS and EXPS. Now have 3 Aimpoint H1s and a T2. I like being able to leave the sights on but that's about the only thing I like better. Miss the shit out of that EOTech sight picture and reticle.

returned my EXPS2.0 got the refund. Bought an MRO, now have a couple more. I really like them, especially the battery life.

But I do miss the EOTech reticle, and the large FOV. If the tech ever exist to have the battery life of an LED in an EOTech I would be all over it.

Two Eotechs I had were shit so I switched to Aimpoimts. If L3 finally has their shit together, I would like to have a EXP3 for my current block II build. I just hate the battery life on the Eotechs vs the Aimpoints.

1. I used my eotech in varied conditions and experienced the massive thermal shift it sucked.
2. Parallax doesn't just magically shift. Put your eye behind the damn thing.

Bottom line the thermal shift was real and made the eotech unusable. If fixed their products have plus and minus like other good scopes if actually fixed. However, they sold our military shit and lied about it that leaves a bad taste in my mouth like the sig response to a defective product that might kill someone. Fuck them

I got suckered in by all the Internet hype and the PSA daily deals, now I own two Aimpoints.
One lives on a Ruger charger, the other one is back in the box.
It's time to use the rebate on an exps2. Batteries are cheap.

I think the issue is that dot sights shouldn't have parallax. If we wanted that, we'd use ACOGs

We have the pick of the litter as far as optics are concerned, from elcans, to aimpoints, to trijicons, etc.

And I'll be going on my third deployment soon with the same Eotech exps 3-0. No issues or neckbearding here
