excerpt - Police searching for an accused cop killer who's been hiding in the Pennsylvania woods for three weeks have confiscated a stash of food, ammunition, clothing and other supplies at a camp site.

Lt. Col. George Bivens said he believes suspect Eric Frein is weakening every time police find one of his supply caches.

This week they found more than 90 rounds of ammunition for a .308 rifle, the same caliber weapon Frein is accused of using when he allegedly ambushed two state troopers on Sept. 12,
killing one and wounding another.

"One of the things he seems to be surviving on predominantly would be cans of tuna fish and ramen noodles," Bivens said.
The colonel said he doesn't think Frein is trying to live off the land.

"I believe his food is running out and we've seized a big amount of it," Bivens said.

3 weeks? Damn, he should teach survival and evasion classes.

I hope just before he starves or freezes to death. Someone puts a bullet in him.

Ramen? He'll be fine for about 4 years or so.

Hey, it works for college students.

Food and Ammo Caches...Rommel did the same thing in Northern Africa for the Wehrmacht
it enabled them to travel very quickly and sustain operations for a long time because
there was no logistical train.

Frein is doing the same thing on a smaller scale. It's enabling him to survive and evade
capture for a long time.

But sooner or later he is going to run out of food, get weak and then will have to expose
himself in order to survive.

IF you are serious about a Bug Out this is what you do...put in a lot of caches along your route
and in your Bug Out area prior to the SHTF.
This enables you to move fast and far.

I thought they had him surrounded about 2 weeks ago.

They said the same thing about Eric Rudolph. For years.

I do hope and believe they'll catch this jackass. But if he's been planning this for years as claimed, he could have any number of stashes out there. It could be a while.

If he knew what he was doing, he'd have cache's all over the place.

Then, again, if he knew what he was doing, the stuff the cops found would have been booby trapped.

I'm surprised he's still in the area. Most likely just another idiot/psycho with just enough knowledge to be dangerous.

I know several cops and the general sentiment is that they're lucky criminals tend to be stupid. When they get a smart one, the job becomes much more difficult.

Not sure which flavor this guy is. Might just be lucky. If he was smart and still had a hard on for cops, there would be more dead.
