Which one to get?
When will they be out?

What the fuck is taking so long?

I like the idea of .308 Pmags, and I've heard the recoil is lighter on the 5.56 Bushmaster ACR vs. the 5.56 FN SCAR. Of course that doesn't mean it will translate to the .308 rifles. They both sound like really good rifles. It may be a hard choice to make.

They make a .308 ACR?   That's news to me.

I put 250 rounds (PMC Brass) through a SCAR, ACR, as well as an FS2000 at 100 yards. 250 through each, I mean.

PMag in the ACR, USGI CProducts mag in the SCAR, USGI CProducts mag in the FS2000.

Very informal test, but heres what I found:

Accuracy (In descending order) ACR, SCAR, FS2000

Reliability: ACR/FS2000 (0 jams), SCAR (1 jam)

Ergonomics: FS2000, SCAR, ACR

The ACR was the most accurate, but also the heaviest. The SCAR is the lightest, and the best shooter, but also was the only one to malfunction. The FS2000 is the best for pointability, but accuracy suffers at range.

No idea how this would translate into .308 versions, but these were my experiences with the 5.56 flavors

I just realized I should probably be stocking up on .308 ammo now.

Anyone know of some really good stuff at a decent price?

There is no .308 ACR. Probably never will be.

I'm ok with a little extra weight. I plan on using it for long range precision shooting. Hopefully they can do that job pretty well.

Wrong platform for Long Range precision shots unless you get the SR 25.

Those were 5.56mm ACRs. The AR was a .308.

ETA: The video title was incorrectly labeled. Bushmaster was showing off their new ACR (5.56mm) and their new .308 AR.

.308 ACR

Bushmaster says they are getting back into the .308 game with an ACR, but they might be referring to the .308 AR that is laying next to the ACRs. Both of the ACR's in the video are 5.56 versions, and it doesnt appear they brought any sort of .308 ACR prototype with them

I dont doubt there will be one in the future, but who knows when that will be....

The .308 "ACR" is the Magpul Massoud, which is still a long way from any kind of production.  They haven't announced any kind of deal with anyone for production, nor announced intent to produce it themselves.

ETA:  That being said, the stated reason for designing the .308 PMAG was for the Massoud.

Yeah, I don't know if I would necessarily go there comparing the SCAR-H and the .308 ACR/Massoud (Whatever it's gonna be called). The SCAR and ACR/.308 are quite a bit cheaper than the KAC unit. $5000.00 for a battle rifle/.308 SASS type weapon is just steep no matter how you look at it.

I'm not trying to downgrade the KAC as I am sure they are damn good shooters; as all SR-25s that I have encountered have been. I will say that these newer arrivals such as the LWRC REPR, LMT SWSS, SCAR, and all the new recent .308 designs are a little more bang for your buck.

Not to mention the insane accuracy people are reporting from the OBR.  I love my REPR, but if I ever get a DI .308, it's an OBR.

No kidding, I mean there isn't anything that the KAC unit can guarantee to do that the others can't, they are all great performers.

So because a web developer screwed up a video name, a .308 ACR is created out of fairy dust and thrown into production?
Go check BM's website and industry forum––no mention of a .308 ACR anywhere.

My buddy who is over in Afghanistan said he likes the SCAR alot, except that the charging handle moves back and forth with the bolt as you shoot, like an AK.

But he said his CCT was knocking down bad guys at 800 meters with it, fairly easily. So, it's also pretty accurate. He said his units gets their SCARs when they get back from their deployment.
