That thing is hardly brand new. It's been around for maybe a couple of decades or more. And the military doesn't have it.

ETA: That dude is annoying as shit.

I'll dig around and see if I can find it again, but I remember hearing mention that a semi-auto version for civvie consumption was under serious consideration. Hell, I'd like one just for how little recoil the thing has.

No, look how awesome and useful that thing would be for using in crowded markets and buildings! He must have been a space shuttle door gunner!

The future weapons guy is annoying. The AA-12 exhibits several disadvantages compared to an assault rifle, especially the weight/bulk of 12g ammo and limited mag capacity. It is a special purpose weapon, only truly useful under rather limited circumstances. It's not quite as badass as some say it is.

That sounds cool, and would be awesomely fun to shoot a magazine full of HE. But I really have to question how effecive the fragmenting round really is. If it was so good, why would it not be already in inventory?

But the next question is..where can I get some?

No shit. I was wondering the same thing. Probably only sold to LE and military. Probably 20 to 30 bucks a round.

aa12 been around forever recently regained some fame because it looks good on all these history/military channel top 10/most whatever shows it is hardly a fieldable weapon system and is a novelty item at best.

I don't see why it would not be an overwhelming weapon to clear rooms with?

Indiscriminate shotgun fire is no match for a M67 tossed into the same rooms.

The scariest day of training for any instructor.

Handing a live grenade to someone who is standing in close proximity and you have no idea what they are going to do with it.
