Here I am at the grocery store buying a few things for hamburgers i'll be grilling tonight. I told my kid to get in line with the cart while I went and grabbed something I forgot.

He gets behind some woman and her kids. These damn kids are raising hell throwing candy from the rack intot he car and the woman fighting them off while unloading the cart. Her teenage daughter is too busy yapping like a epileptic chiuaua on crank telling someone to tell someone elese to f-off.

Two of the little punks she bred with the local hoodlums have earrings and rat tails. At this point I was trapped; the other lanes were filled and a nice lady behind me struck up a conversation about the guy getting petitions out front.

The dignity card woman puts all her ice cream, cookies little debbies crap and BONELESS chicken breasts on the conveyer. The clerk gives her a total to which the leech tells her she doesnt have enough on her etb card. I was pissed at this point cause instead of taking the garbage off, she took off the noodles and minute rice instead of the junk food!!

She finally rings up a total in line with her "credit" on the card. They bag her crap and she drags her kids out of the way so they can ring me up. She walked over to the lottery ticket machine and stuck a twenty in there and got a bunch of tickets!!!!!

I told her "it must be nice to get free food and then spend money on lottery tickets" She just shrugged her shoulders and walked off with her future brood of welfarians and gangstas!!

I am so damn pissed

All those that have jobs here and have to deal with ahole bosses and coworkers can rest easy this family is gonna live it up tonight on your "contribution."

First, don't call it a "dignity card." Call it a damned EBT card, or eve better, a wastrel card. The majority of these parasites are below having any dignity at all, having sunk even below a common street beggar. At least the vagrant trash at offramps doesn't fill out paper, claiming that he is entitled to anything.

Second, you wasted your breath. I hate to say it, but that bitch has her priorities in order, as far as she's concerned. And likely lacks the intelligence to understand your calling her out on it anyway.

Long long ago I worked in a grocery store. We took food stamps. I cannot tell you how many people I saw using food stamps who would then go nextdoor to the ABC store and buy lots of liquor.

I know how ya feel.  Since he graduated high school, my dad worked for public housing, and when I was growing up, I used to go to work with him once in a while.  Still would, but I'm usually 1000mi away.  Anyway, we would go into these peoples' homes, and I would see a big screen tv, cable tv, a Nintendo or whatever with all the games, a couple cartons of cigarettes, a case of beer, about six pairs of $100+ shoes per person, same with the Starter jackets, the list goes on.  ALL that stuff, paid for by my parents busting their asses, while we had none of that at home.  And most of these people were not in and out of public housing, it was generation after generation!

Unemployment Compensation is NOT something for nothing....It is insurance that your employer pays in case you unexpectedly become temporarily unemployed.....It is paid to compensate you during a layoff, or slow period at work.....It was never meant to be a life sustaining income, hence the reason it is a LIMITED benefit, and your employer has to AGREE to let you get it....I have no problem collecting my unemployment bennies when the need arises, but I DO have difficulty going to welfare for a handout....I've only needed unemployment one time in my 20 year work history, and if I go another 20 before I need it again, I'll have no problem collecting it.

Those folks are worse than the illegals. I have tons more respect for an illegal who busts his ass picking fruit than the homegrown turds we have here.

When I was a kid my best friend from the block would never let me go to the store with him, he'd always make an excuse or whatever to keep me from walking him to the supermarket when his parents sent him to the store. I remember actually feeling hurt and confused (again, we were young, maybe 10 at the time). One time in particular I insisted on walking him to the supermarket, and he actually ran away from me so I wouldn't be with him at the supermarket. What was the problem??? Was it me???

It didn't occur to my 10 year old mind at the time, but my friend Tommy's family was on welfare and he was being sent to the supermarket with food stamps. Tommy was mortified by this and didn't want me, his friend, to know his family was on welfare.

It's sad that my friend was embarassed by this experience, but IMHO it's necessary to make accepting public assistance a little uncomfortable, otherwise people would become accustomed to sloth.

If Tommy had a credit card instead of food stamps maybe he wouldn't have minded as much, in fact maybe he wouldn't give a fuck at all.

Back in the mid 1980's I'd had my own business for about 6 years(Last two years of high school + 4 years), but was loosing out on some work/jobs because I didn't have the "Little piece of paper" that said I could do what I'd been doing for the past 6+ years......So, I went back to school to get the "Paper".

Now, understand that I'm still working....Supporting myself & the GF (Wife now) & driving whatever I could afford + paying for school...to get something that said I knew,what I had already been doing as my ONLY employment/source of income.

Early one COLD, dark (Michigan) winter's day. I was driving my VW Wagon (like I said, what I could afford) to "Class" and I was freezing my balls off (air-cooled VWs basically have little -to- no heat in the winter) just trying to get to school. I'm stopped at a light, scraping the inside of the windshield, when one of our local "Poor" pulls up....in her "So new the price-tag is still in the window" Cadillac...COUNTING HER F&#KING FOOD STAMPS!

Let's just say My GF (5-8 miles away), had to have heard My "Bitch-Out" at this pile of human debris!  I drove along side of that bitch for as long as the VW would keep up...........

Back in my college days (Ohio State, early 90's), I would be at the South Campus area Krogers.  Invariably, some fat, white-trash beeotch would be in front of me in the check-out line, with her five dirty kids in tow, making noise, being pests.  

Back then, they didn't have "dignity cards", and the leeches would have to hurt their precious self-esteem by using actual food stamp coupons.  However, there was an advantage to this.  They received cash as change, if their food stamps were more than the price of the food.  They would then use the change to make a second purchase:  always cigarettes or lottery tickets.

99% of the time, they would have the conveyor loaded with garbage like microwave pizzas, chips, etc., while I would be  buying 6 / $1 ramen noodles, and $.89 packs of hotdogs (made from the finest chicken beaks and pig assholes).

Also reminds me of the time our corner bum, Matthew almost made me violent.  This guy was nice enough, usually spending his weekend afternoons drinking malt liquor on the corner.  He couldn't technically be classified as a bum, because he was employed by the county Board of Mental Retardation.  However, it was his aspiration to go on disability, claiming mental stress due to his job as a janitor, but that's another story...

Anyway, it was a Saturday, and my buddies and I went bunny hunting outside of Columbus.  It rained like hell, so my gun was soaking wet.  When I got home, I really needed to spray my shotgun down to displace the water.  The only place in our apartment that wasn't carpetted, was the linoleum by the front door.  I spread some newspaper on the floor and was spraying the gun down with WD40, when there was a knock on the door.  I opened the door, shotgun in hand, and there is Matthew.  He nearly shat himself.  When he calmed down, he then said that he had an offer that I could not refuse.  He had food stamps that he would sell me for 50 cents on the dollar, and they worked "just like money" at the store.  I told the fucker that he had better get off my porch and never come back, or he would become more acquainted with the butt end of my Mossy.  Strangly enough, Matthew chose another corner to drink his OE 800 forties, hence forth.

Don't get me started on my campaign to keep panhandlers from begging for money in my presence, while walking to my job as a bouncer.  Those were the days...

+1. I just won't take something for nothing, no matter what they say to justify it. The last time I was unemployed, I quit my job (with my manager offering me more money to stay) so that I could look for a better one. I lived on money I saved - yes, you can save money, even when you're making just above minimum wage.

In Maryland it's ironically named the "Freedom Card."

OK, Here's a thought....
Back when I was a teen, (the early 70's) we had an elderly nieghbor that qualified for food assistance. back then, there were no food stamps. You got "Commodities". Yes, that's right. The Government would give hungry people actual food. I used to take her to town and help her pick up her food. She got a big block of cheese, a block of butter, canned foods, rice, beans, and some other misc. stuff. It was all in USDA government packaging. It was probably better quality stuff than we could buy at the local market.

But now, the .gov bunch pays farmers NOT to grow food.
Instead of using food to feed the hungry, we create a new method for wasteful spending and fraud.
Why are the illegals taking jobs the americans dont want? Because americans don't have to work. they can lay on their lazy asses and draw welfare and food stamps. Why work, when .gov will house and feed you?

Cut out the social freebie programs, and watch the fighting begin for all those jobs that americans will suddenly want. Hunger is a pretty good incentive to get off your ass and work.
