Not really.  That works out to $35 a year.  Mine works out to $50 a year.

This reminds me.....I need to see if I can renew my TX permit.

Posession = Free (If your not a felon)
Open carry = Free
CCW = Training cost usually about $100 and $50 fee to the D.P.S. 4yrs

$117 in Maryland.  But, that is really only a donation to the state police since its next to impossible to actually get a permit.  Oh, and its more invovled if you want to be able to wear a bulletproof vest while carrying.

Do you have to pay for a permit to own a pistol??

A CCW in Arizona is $40 or so. Is that what you guys are talking about?

Or do you live in really screwed up states?

A Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) permit for Nevada residents costs $105.00 for five years, and a non-Nevada resident can obtain a three year permit for the same amount. Resident and non-resident applicants must complete an eight hour (min) course IN the State of Nevada. There is an additional fee for the course and tuition varies in price. Renewals are $85.00 and a four hour (min) renewal course must be completed. It is strongly suggested that the renewal course be completed at least six months before expiration due to the time factor of the permit renewal.

Although you can have as many guns on the permit that you choose, the permit is gun specific meaning that you must qualify with each handgun you wish to list on your permit.

I am an approved Nevada CCW Instructor. Contact me if you have any questions.

Be Safe.

Actually it is called "State of Alabama Pistol License", but is indeed a ccw license, for all of you who couldn't figure it out from my initial post.

"Pistol Permit" is just slang I suppose.
