How about this? Some "nutcase" shows up at a PD, and "confesses" to a shooting spree. He or she misses key details when the police question him/her about stuff not in the paper.....

Of course, what if the nutcase [b]IS[/b] the shooter, but now faces one count of filing a false police report, instead of five counts of murder.....
