Obama outlined his thinking in a guest posting on SCOTUS blog Wednesday:

“A sterling record. A deep respect for the judiciary’s role. An understanding of the way the world really works. That’s what I’m considering as I fulfill my constitutional duty to appoint a judge to our highest court.”

You just cant put a finger on it other then to raise your middle finger

Obama is president until January. McConnel will wait until after the election. Then, on like November 15 or something, they'll let through whoever Obama wants so as to not be "obstructionist." Then Obama will swear him in and leave office. Thy have almost 3 full moths t cave and still fulfill the promise of "waiting until after the election."

In other words, that the founding fathers really didn't mean for certain parts of the constitution to apply when technology changed...

Yo!  Mr. President!!

The Constitution says "... he shall nominate and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, appoint...." not just "appoint."

Constitutional scholar indeed.

The republicans always say no and always find a reason to cave in. Look at the budget and deficit as good examples . It is called Kabuki theater . The outcome is a given already . The events leading up to it are a show for the masses . Both sides play along to the joke , The taxpayers get left out

the right as most of us are, want someone who will stand up and fight, yell back, call names, and yes that is why trump is doing well

Republicans should focus on whatever it takes to WIN THE ELECTION.

Ruth Buzzi Ginsberg isn't likely to last another four years.  A GOP President will have an opportunity to replace her with someone better.
