Chilly here tonight, had to take off my wedding ring.  The thing will barely stay on.

All of my clothes are starting to get really baggy too.  We got new uniforms at work.  I ordered pretty much the same thing I had before.  The old pants were 38's, I got 36's.  The old 38's were a little big on me in June.  Now the new 36's are about the same as the 38's were.  The new shirts swallow me whole.  Too bad I'm stuck with them.

Might have been cheaper to just have kept those extra 30 lbs.

I know how you feel! I have lost 53lbs since June and none of my uniforms for work fit anymore. I went from a 42 waist down to a 36 and from a 3x shirt to a 2x. All of my work clothes are baggy as hell, so I went and bought me some Dickies that fit as well as blue/black T-shirts to wear to work. Thankfully I get to order new uniforms next month. But I ain't complaining since being skinny beats the hell out of being a land manatee.

My funeral suit (about the only time I dress up) is big on me now.  I lost around 40lbs last year.  I went down a size in BDU pants, my old ones were HUGE.  Even my hat size went down!

That is outstanding to hear about everyone losing weight.  I for one have lost exactly 34 pounds in a little over 7 weeks.  I got to head out and purchase several new sets of jeans.  I for one hate shopping, but damn, it made my whole weekend!!

Now the next phase it to lose an additional 40 pounds and I will be a real happy camper....

A Marine once told me the best thing about loosing weight was that your "gun" looks bigger

I loved wasting money on shopping after realizing I was losing weight when all the other girls were gaining the Freshman 15.  The first time I went home my mom said, "Wow, you're losing weight."  I seriously didn't know, because I just assumed I was getting lucky in fitting into smaller sizes while shopping.

Hmm.... now all that weight and some to lose three years later.  Having to buy a new wardrobe in favor of a slimmer figure is NOT a bad thing.

It looks 1" shorter for every 30lbs you're overweight.

So what are you guys doing to lose weight??

No carbs, just eating less, what??

...consume less than you burn.

eat less, exercise more.  kill the refined sugars (pop, candy, white bread, etc).  Eat a salad prior to your main course, you'll fill up quicker.  better yet, just eat the salad as the main course; throw a can of tuna or some diced meat in with your fresh spinach or romaine lettuce leaves, a bunch of different chopped veggies, a bit of cheese, some red beets or chick peas, and a little dressing, and you'll have a salad that 1) tastes good, and 2) fills you up.  Don't drink so much beer.

Since I have moved out of my parents house I have dropped 2 sizes in my jeans.  Being deprived of home cooking sucks, but now I just don't eat... so i guess it's not all bad.

Running helps too.

You are 21!!! (per the "under 23" thread). Cross referencing the two threads provides a little insight to some of the success stories. At 21 I could eat just about anything with no impact on weight. Not so anymore.

Actually, I have a relatively slow metabolism, and I really have to stay on top of what I eat in order to not pork up.  I'm 6'4" and 210 pounds, pretty muscular, and work out 3-4 times a week, but I have a slight perma-gut and ass that get big if I were to so much as look at the kind of shit my roommates consume in a given day.
Additionally, the same thing worked for my Dad who is 55...he's probably lost 15-20 lbs in the past 6 months and kept it off.

The advice that I gave (consume less than you burn) has nothing to do with age or physical condition.  Doing so will make you lose weight!  And one of the best ways to cut down on the frivolous calories is to cut out the refined sugar, especially in stuff like soda and sweets.
