I agree. Grey areas exist only because we allow it. When you come right down to it and force someone to take a firm position it will be either black or white.

I'd argue that virtually NOTHING is entirely black or white. Everything ends up some sort of shade of grey - even if very close to pure black or pure white.
On the surface, things that seem obvious always end up being more complex when you push them a little. |

I would agree that decisions can be extremely complex, but at the end of the day an action is chosen. You can try to avoid making a black or white decision, but if it really comes down to it you will have to pick for or against. Not picking for is, by default, against.

Is it always best to tell the truth  Example 1 : You know your significant other worked very hard on something , and they are really proud of it . You think it sucks , and they ask you what you think ................ Example 2 : Your child brings home a piece of artwork from school that they made for you . It's the ugliest thing you've ever seen and they ask if you like it ................. |

Shades of Grey
