Narniaweb has put up some of the movie posters for The Voyage of the Dawn Treader movie.
They show some of the new characters. I'm really looking forward to this movie, I really liked the books.
It's coming out in Dec 2010.

It's been a while since I read the books, but isn't "The Silver Chair" the next in the series? Or did they do that one already?

They made The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and Prince Caspian: The Return to Narnia  into movies already. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
will be out Dec 2010. The Silver Chair would be the next in published order. Wikipedia has a pretty good
article about the narnia books. Here is the list of books in the published order:

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (1950)
Prince Caspian: The Return to Narnia (1951)
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (1952)
The Silver Chair (1953)
The Horse and His Boy (1954)
The Magician's Nephew (1955)
The Last Battle (1956)

If they keep the quality as high in the last two, it will be great.

Anyone ever watch the BBC series? That used to terrify me as a kid.

I hate to say it, but the first thing I noticed was how grown up Georgie looks!

I can't wait for December, but its better than waiting for May! (Take that Disney! Hmph!

I watched the BBC version of this a few months ago.  IMO, it was terrible.

They had better damn well have Reepicheep!

His journey to Aslan's Country is one of the most amazing and moving stories in the whole Narnia series. If they didn't include him, all would be lost before they even started the film. But thankfully, he'll be in VotDT. Bad news is Eddie Izzard isn't returning to voice Reepicheep, but they've got Bill Nighy to fill his shoes so I'm not too worried.

I always imagine him as Slartibartfast.

Slartibartfast: [talking about the Earth] Best laid plans of mice.

Arthur: And men.

Slartibartfast: What?

Arthur: Best laid plans of mice and men.

Slartibartfast: Oh. No, I don't think men had much to do with it.

Reepicheep would be quite honored!

I see Ramandu's Daughter!
Think they'll actually name her in the film?

They are going to release the 1st Dawn Treader movie trailer with the Toy Story 3 movie which comes out June 18.
I'll be seeing it with my daughter, so that will be great.

They released 3 more clips.
Looks like they are staying pretty close to the book if I remember right.
Here are the 1st 2 clips on youtube.

The Dawn Treader was always my favorite of the series. Magician's Nephew is second.

The trailers look very good. It will be interesting to see how they depict Eustace.

If you aren't listening to the NarniaWeb podcasts, you should be. They have some great commentary on the trailers and clips and the issues various fans are having.

Lots of artistic license with this movie over the book. The Silver Chair hopefully will be closer to the book.

I guess they had to spice it up a bit, Dawn Treader was not my favorite read of the series.

The last battle will be interesting, have to see if they PC the thing or stay reasonably true to the book.

They released a new tv spot.

They have a review from a early screening on narniaweb.com that looks encouraging, no spoilers.

It's like she finally grew into her face or something......the last 2 movies I thought she was a bit homely to be honest.  She's grown into a very pretty young woman.  Her sister that plays the older "Queen Lucy" version of her in the first movie is also very pretty.

Just got out of a showing... So, what'd y'all think?

Imho, it followed much more closely than I thought they would. Very good film, too; not another Prince Caspian! I guess it is now up to the box office,  so if you want to see The Silver Chair, best vote with your wallet and go as many times a you dare. And take the whole family and your kids/siblings. And their friends  and their friend's friends. Just for starters!

Tony-Ri, why do you say vote with your wallet?  Was Prince Caspian a financial flop,...or what.  The two prior movies were great!  This one looks to be great, too.  We are going tonight.

For how much it cost Disney to finance and promote, yes it was a flop. It didn't even break even with the domestic intake. Many blame this on both the horrible summer release date, and it being the least filmable of the novels.

VotDT cost much less to 20th Century Fox to shoot than PC Disney, so all we can hope for is a good run and then we'll find out if 20th will finance/distribute the next film.

Great movie and really captured the visual imagination from the book I think.

Love the mouse, Love the Lion, Love the message.

Best money I spent on a movie in a long time.

I'm glad to see some hearts at Disney getting a makeover.

Saw it tonight, enjoyed it very much. I think my only complaint was it really felt like it was rushed to me... like it was a 2 1/2 hour script and they cut that down to 1 hour 50 minutes without any significant rewrite to accommodate the compression.

Maybe they will have an extended edition on Bluray when it comes out (hint, hint, hint).

I'm about half way through the book right now.  I'd never read it before.  It is a kids' book but it's very decent.  Mikey likes it.

That would be very awesome if they did.

I was hoping the same thing after seeing the movie. Basically, good film, but needs the "Director's Cut" on disc after all is said and done.

Saw it last night, not bad.  The ending was touching and I like that they didn't neuter the message.

Two thumbs up from me and the girlfriend.
