Not everybody digs the VU but at least they've heard "Walk On the Wild Side" or "Sweet Jane".
The man did have a couple of pop hits.

I played Sweet Jane. Did not register. Maybe if I played the Cowboy Junkies cover.

He died. I'm gonna die.

He sucked worse than I do, and I can't sing at all, though evidently he made a lot more money at sucking than I did.

I nominate Velvet Underground as one of the worst bands of all time.


He was not anymore important than anybody else, musically or custodially. Of course, IMHO.

Then again, I responded, without observing, in a Saigaman thread. argh. Fuck me.

Yeah, the liver transplant was kind of a "no shit?" issue.
There are some recent photos in the NY Post of him around town with and without Laurie Anderson, he looks really rough.
