I want my country back. Long has it been an American tradition to have silly slogans on shirts. This is why we can't have nice things! God damn asshole terrorists!

Nike pulls "Boston Massacre" shirts following bombings
Linky

Nike has pulled shirts that read "Boston Massacre" -- a reference to the Yankees-Red Sox rivalry -- from store shelves in light of the tragedy in Boston last week.

The phrase references a four-game sweep of the Red Sox by the Yankees in 1978 that was part of an epic late-season collapse for Boston. The T-shirts in question were printed in Yankee colors, with drops of blood splattered over the lettering.

I not even a basketball fan.

Given the timing and this years tragedy, I'd say it would be tasteless not to pull them.

This x 100.  Sometimes it's just best to quietly fold the tent and go home.

Stay classy, Yankees...

The terrorists didn't win unless the shirt came with a Muhammad bomb turban picture on the front.

good pull, never even knew about that shirt.

Yep.

You can't take a bag into a sports stadium. Pre schoolers get frisked at the airport, The Govt. listens to your phone, and reads your internet activity. Nike pulls an ill timed T-shirt, and suddenly you decide the terrorists have won? Fuck, fucking, fuckity fuck!

I saw this shirt on ebay last night for $50.  thought it was some sick fuck making bootleg tshirts about it.

I have no problem with this, it's a classy move by Nike. With the wounds being still raw from the bombing there is no way that those shirts would be taken in the proper context, better to put them away until next year.

Now I kinda want a pre-ban shirt, just because I can't have one anymore.

There's still enough people that give a fuck about baseball to merit making T-shirts for them?  Who knew?

They haven't won just because a company exercises a bit of good taste. Relax.

It would be poor taste to make the shirts if they were not already made, but pulling them seems to be knuckling under to terrorism.

Meh, it's business decision.  A wise given recent events, IMHO.

people still buy shirts that celebrate a sports win from the late 70's?

I thought the same thing when I saw this.  Perfect example of how we let the terrorist win.

Oh, come on. Don't you like a little bit of hyperbole with your morning news?
