Gotta say Elk or Moose.

I had an Elk roast last year from a friend that moved out west and was lucky enough to tag out.
Damn that is some delicious stuff.

Moose was surprisingly tasty too.

Bison is really good.  I've had elk a couple times now and I very much enjoyed it, but I still think I like bison better.

Hey Abominal, where did you last eat an "elv steak"...Santa's North Pole workshop? (Don't even try to convince us you meant to type "elk", because the "v" and the "k" are way too far apart on the keyboard.)

Gotta go with snapping turtle. I think it has 7 or 8 different types of meat, each one more delicious than the last. Found some the size of  manhole covers in the yard. The food came to me! Thanks for volunteering mr. turtle. Pure deliciousness.

I've had all of these, and a few others.

My favorite is bison, although ostrich is damn good too.

We eat alot of deer, to the point that we almost never buy any meat.  5 deer between my son and I last year.

Moose? WTF is wrong with you people. It's like 50% beef and 50% cardboard.
Reindeer, now that's good stuff. And horse, especially smoked, as a lunch meat.

Spring lamb.  Kill, skin, cut up in small strips.  Salt, put on a hot fire in a grill basket.  When the grease fire starts, toss the lamb through the fire to grill evenly and serve still sizzling.

There is no red meat I have ever eaten that is the equal of fresh spring lamb grilled with salt.  Not even Prime dry aged Ribeye.  It is bar none, the tastiest critter on the planet in my opinion.  It also comes as its own storage container, (being on the hoof) has a re-usable wrapper, and is available in serving sizes appropriate to a normal family gathering.  There's a lot of skin bone etc per pound on the hoof.

If you're a liver and onions fan, the fresh (still warm) liver of a spring lamb seared in clarified butter and served with grilled onions and taters is a thing of wonder.

Sorry.  I grew up raising the things and mom and dad made the mistake of letting us eat one when it was still labrador sized once.   It was hard as heck to go back to letting them grow to full size after that.

Just like a rib eye a little olive oil rub, kosher or sea salt, and some craked black pepper cook medium rare on a hot grill. You will love it. I will kill the shit out of them this year if they are still in the area.

There a great restaurant down the way that specializes in game animals.  It's so good, it ALMOST make me want to hunt.

PS - I don't hunt out of laziness.  I have no problems eating bambi's mother.  I just don't someone else to do the legwork.

No votes in here for Yak yet?

It's disgusting.

I'd like to try some buffalo or ostrich some time.

Eaten elk, venison, lamb, goat, yak...probably even dog once?  Not sure what it was, didn't bother to ask, just ate what was given to me because that's all there was.

ETA:  Just looked, Yak is supposed to be tasty?  I guess the nasty I had was probably due to prep?  Boiled meat is never too good.
