Nothing but a big empty cement room with a steel stairway inside right now, going to add a couple camp chairs and a ice chest with water and such.

Costs was $2000 installed, pre cast concret, dig a hole, level and drop in, back fill.

Should not, the shelter is on the west side of the house, prevailing winds and storms come from the west.

If it does, then I guess yall will be singing and dancing...

Not me, unless you plan to will your guns to me.

You know, after your post, I decided to see if I could work out North from the photos; can't come to a definite conclusion.

By the way, are you suer that's Oklahoma?  I don't see anywhere near enough red clay.  I'm always amazed at the color when I fly over Oklahoma.  We have red clay here, too, but the color is not as saturated.

My green building is SOUTH, the door of the shelter is NORTH. The rest should be easy...

You bastard!!

For a second there, you were my hero - with your own bunker and all.

Now you're back to being my nemesis!

No seriously - it's very cool.  Every house should have one - or a reinforced room in the basment.

That is awesome, something I've always wanted. How think is the roof (thick enough to be a fallout shelter)?

Did you plan it all yourself, or are there plans on the net for this sort of thing?

BTW, give us some pics of the inside!
