This is why you get a concealed carry permit.
Happens a lot around here. |

Ugh Oh! A for real commissioned officer or an academy trainee? Plenty of undiscovered turds in the recruit pools. |

If you entered the information correctly he may have a criminal past or the same name as a criminal . He might want to look into that

I've had several LEOs delayed, recent background checks play hell with the system.

I retired after 31 years in law enforcement. I had my current LEOSA card and was denied. The appeals process is suspended so no way to appeal. I retained Nolo who filed in the DC District Court. It was settled out of Court, the record corrected and a UPIN issued.
This needs to stop. Many cannot afford to initiate legal action and the delay is significant. There needs to be a clear and quick way to process appeals or just give up on the Nics check nonsense. |

Several states don't need to run a NICS on a CC holder. Not sure on the states you mentioned but did you give them you CC card when filling out your 4473? View Quote Was just pointing out that not all states accept it to bypass NICS. I've handed it to shops recently to provide my current address. |

My BIL recently got turned down for buying a gun because his FOID card expired when he moved out of state and he is back now. He also needs a new drivers license which he has to have to get the FOID. He is a semi mechanic and must pass the driven test with a semi. For the test, he had to parallel park a semi-tractor trailer rig. He failed this part of the test and had to practice. So, he has the DL now, but has to wait for the FOID card 8 weeks. Needless to say, it will be months before he can get his CCL. The only reason he can legally hunt deer is that he owns the land he hunts on. He is an firearms instructor BTW.

My friend got denied because he is "a fugitive from justice" according to the FBI. He said screw it and got his LTC.

Turns out a home grown Islamic sympathizer's "American" name was the same as my friends. Things got easier for my buddy after the FBI shot and killed the sympathizer in a raid in Dearborn, MI. |

Never put your SS# on the form. I get flagged and denied every time if I do.

Not only did I get delayed every time I bought a firearm after that, I got SSSS (Secondary Security Screening Selection) on my boarding pass and taken aside EVERY time on EVERY leg I flew domestic or international in the US, including after I started doing security contracting for the Army in Kosovo. It wasn't until I came back almost 10 years later for a visit to the DC area (THANKS AGAIN, NOVA ARFCOMMERS!!!) that I didn't get extra screening. It seems that just being in the system, even for a GOOD reason, gets you lumped with the BAD people. |
