Anyone catch this ? I watched it last night, looks like it's on a few times this week. Very interesting show, I really enjoyed it.

Their top pics starting at # 10:

10. M14
9. Sturmgewehr 44
8. 1903 Springfield
7. Steyr Aug
6. Mauser K98k Carbine
5. FN FAL
4. M1 Garand
3. Lee Enfield SMLE
2. M16
1. AK-47

I completely agree with their # 1 pick. And I'm not biased at all. ;-)
Even though they claim it's an "UGLY GUN".

If you get the chance to watch it, it's really a good show.

Saw it. Good hour of entertainment.

I still think the M1 Carbine deserves to be on there somewhere, or at least an honorable mention.

Bits and pieces of this show can be found on Youtube.

#7, 8 and 10 are strange pics. The M14 was a road to nowhere, the 1903 was a Mauser copy, and the Aug hasn't exactly set the small arms world on fire. I guess with the 1903 and the M14 they are just playing up to an American audience.

I was suprised to see the FAL on there(it should be but i didnt think they would have given it any credit). There are many rifles that should have been mentioned.

The FN-FAL was used by many countries (90?) and nearly by us... But it was a transitional time, with so many moving toward a smaller caliber.
I was suprised to find the SKS was not listed at all, unless they saw it as being a similar platform and distribution as the AK...

Does anyone else find that young British guy extremely annoying?

The SKS? It was obsolete before it even went into service.

I agree... however there were many millions of these made and they served from 1949 and up into the 80's, not bad for a semi auto only design.

It was a good watch. Glad the M16 was on there considering how much it is bad mouthed on the net.

Yeah, the M1 Carbine is nice but you got to remember it isn't a combat rifle. It's a carbine. They were looking at main line battle rifles. However, I do like the M1 Carbine nice little gun. Also, like above I really question the adding of the 1903. It is a Mauser 98 clone and that was represented.
