I remember it. It was bad.

It's really odd that I now own property 15 miles from Petersburg. Hard to imagine in a way.

Yup. Looks like the Catskills a few years ago when Sandy came through.

I was born in 1985 so I don't remember. The South Branch around Petersburg is an awesome place to canoe and fish though!

We toured the area a few weeks after the flood.  There were still dead cows stuck in trees.

Well, there's nothing there, that's for sure.

You can come to Upper Tract and hang out at my place if you want.

Awesome, I love it there.  First time I took my kids camping was to Big Bend.  Age 2 and 3.  I've fished the catch and release at Eagle Rock quite a bit.  One of my favorites.  I'd really like to spend a few days canoeing and fishing through the canyon.  Ahh, to find the time...

I can remember we used to stay in Nelson's Cabins just down the road from Petersburg.  They were right on the South Branch in a grove of trees.  They were built sometime in the fifties and they kept all of the original furnishings and appliances, and they were in great condition.  Like stepping into a time machine.  It got washed away in the flood.

I can remember that during that flood, they opened the upper flood gates on Sutton Dam for the first time ever. Unreal standing at the top and watching the water go over.
