Yea, yea I know, its an old movie, but I just watched it for the first time yesterday. The movie, and the child molsterer's that were killed thread, got me thinking. What would be the reaction of the general population, if something like that REALLY happened? A few people got together, and started killing all the scumbag gangbangers, but left innocents alone?

I'll add a poll after I see a few responses.

I did most of my growing up in Detroit, and policed there for awhile. You think people are upset when bad guys kill other bad guys? It happens every day, in every major city in the US; do you see anyone who's upset?

But, In answer to your querry, I have no idea, but I would like to think that it would meet little resistance. But it would be put down by those that feel murder is murder, no matter who it is thats getting whacked.

just got done watching it, pretty good movie, could do without the gay scenes and Wm Dafoe crossdressing. Finding out the Duke was family was a nice plot twist.

The ACLU would be on their ass in a heartbeat, declaring them evil vigilanties. Bush would back their opinion because he doesn't want to lose voters, yet will isolate heavy conservatives at the same time.

Isn't this the point in his presidency where he shouldn't care who he pisses off?

Shouldn't he be doing everything in this term that he wanted to do in his first term but couldn't because he was afraid he wouldn't get re-elected?

Nope. I think it is a big reason why he has paid absolutely no attention to the people screaming about the border situation. Border security will be a huge part of the Republican platform for the '08 election. Sad, but true.
