Just flew over. Low, in formation, and in a snowstorm. Just northwest of Philadelphia. Sounded like a commercial jet was landing on my roof. By the time I made it outside I couldn't see them. The neighbor identified them.
Any ideas why they may be up here? |

Could be becuase of a little game of the navy vs army. .....lol

They flew past the new World Trade towers yesterday and are likely en route home to P-cola.
Probably buzzed the Army Navy game in Philly on the way back. |

That's curious. I thought they had their funding cut. View Quote They've been flying for awhile now. My part time job is right near NAS and they do practice flights weekly. Loud as hell buzzing my office. It's cool to go out and watch them. Was quiet on up until about a month or so ago. |

There for the game, but also went to NYC yesterday for a photoshoot and to get familiar with the area for the Bethpage Air Show on Memorial Day.

They used to do their show practice out by El Centro, CA. We would go out into the desert and watch them practice. Great way to spend a day. |

I encourage the Blue Angels fans here to put politics aside and just enjoy them on Mythbusters. Excellent episode. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tNOipYwb6k View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I used to love seeing them practice when I lived in P-Cola! It was really cool to be out on the boat and they would buzz you less than 100 feet up, It felt like they were going to knock you out of the boat.
If they are back up I strongly encourage everyone to go see the practice on Pensacola NAS. Its an amazing show. Makes you feel proud to be an American. |

They are absolutely amazing to watch. I've seen them at the RI Airshow numerous times, and in Maine, I spent three days watching them practice for a show at NAS Brunswick. As mentioned earlier, if you haven't seen them before, you really need to.

El Centro is still their winter home. When you fly such close formations, visibility is paramount and P-Cola loses a lot of that in winter. El Centro does not, having about the same number of CAVU flying days as Luke AFB does. Nice sunny, clear sky's, no sudden weather that closes in between heartbeats, etc. El Centro is also the location of the first BA airshow of each season, with the P-Cola show closing.
