Hillary Blames 9/11 Attack on Bush Tax Cuts

New York Senator Hillary Clinton said Saturday that she blames the Bush administration's tax cut program for the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks that leveled the World Trade Center and destroyed part of the Pentagon.

"If we hadn't passed the big tax cut last spring, that I believe undermined our fiscal responsibility and our ability to deal with this new threat of terrorism, we wouldn't be in the fix we're in today," Clinton told CNN's Jonathan Karl.

In addition to undermining the country's ability to deal with terrorist attacks, Clinton said the Bush tax cuts worsened the economic downturn in the wake of Sept. 11.

"We had eight years of prosperity because we paid down our debt and we got rid of our deficit," she complained. "We hit a rough spot, and it was turned into a terrible bump because of the attacks of September 11."

Clinton also criticized the economic stimulus package passed last month by the Republican-controlled House of Representatives.

"I thought the plan passed by the House of Representatives was a fiscal disaster that would set our country back for years to come," the 2004 presidential hopeful said, adding, "I don't understand how they passed it with a straight face."

Clinton slammed Bush and congressional Republicans after telling CNN that "the fight against terrorism has to be such a united effort."

CNN's Karl did not ask Clinton about her husband's comments Wednesday, where he seemed to blame the 9/11 attacks on 19th century U.S. slavery and the mistreatment of the American Indian.

She was also not queried on accounts by former White House insiders who say her husband was too preoccupied by his extramarital liaisons to follow through on repeated promises to hunt down Osama bin Laden.

Only Hillary could come up with this half baked logic...blame a tax cut for the terrorist attacks.

Even more of a mystery to me is WHO VOTED HER IN?

There's an "article" in Talk Magazine, written by Chelsea.  It's about her NYC/9-11 experience.
In it, she actually says that when the buildings dropped, [b]her very first thought[/b] was, "...how will we ever be able to help the victims' families with President Bush's Tax Cut in place..."

She is evil through and through.  The stunt makes me recall when she was given that very harsh reception at that awards ceremony.  She blamed her PR guy!  She gets heckeled off the stage at the most patriotic event in the largest city in the state that she represents as a US senator and she blames it on her PR guy.  How many people DONATED their tax rebate to the relief effort only to find that most of the money won't even go to where it was intended to go?

Politics is just another cult, with politicians as the leaders. She could command that all her [i]followers[/i] subsist on bread and water and they'd all go for it because she'd [i]take care of them[/i][whacko][puke].

What bothers me most, if she does run for President in 2004, I think she'll win. The people of this country are that stupid.

I am not afraid of most things in this world. But I 'DO' fear that woman. Her polices are to the left of her husbands and she is smarter.
I truly believe she was the political brains behind Clinton. If she runs for the White House I think she may win but I bet she won't take the state of New York, they are beginning to see the real Hillary.
As far as Chelsea getting into politics, I recall someone referring to the Clintons as the new Kennedy's. So that answer is yes.
With the events of 9/11 I think alot of folks are getting more serious about America as a whole. People are looking at the goverment carefully and that includes the previous 8 years. I hope they remeber the smoke and mirrors during the next presidential race.
