Guys, I'm a stickler for correct time as well. Instead of setting my clocks by my local time/temperature number (which is always off 2-3 minutes), I call long distance out-of-state to set them to the exact second by the atomic signal. Call it compulsive/obsessive if you like.

World time-- (303)-499-7111.

Why are you still posting in this thread? The post above gave the distinct impression that you were going to leave it to those of us "nerds" who for one reason or another care about the correct time. Yes, you looked like an ignoramus, but you can't take that back now. So leave already.

really?? I bother you that bad??? I must say then that you need to really take a long look at your life in general. Is it really that bad?? because if it is...they do have medications out there that probably could help you.

At the tone, the time will be...

00:03:30 fast.

AROKIE, the government (US Naval
Observatory) keeps an atomic clock.
You can access the time for it via the
web or you can get some software
that syncs your PCs clock to it. Not too
important for us peons (or ARFCOM),
but it is VERY important for the servers
on the internet.

It said that was 5-30 seconds off.

Because streaming audio is buffered, the audio time will be delayed (late) by up to 30 seconds from when it left the USNO Master Clock. You may be able to shorten the delay by setting buffering to 3 seconds in your media player.

I use the same one that M4Madness posted, 303-499-7111. Like he said, it is essentially direct to the clock. It's a local call for me though.

I use the Washington D.C. number, but I think they are the same.

It must be nice. I live in a rural area and my power goes out at least once a week, so I'm calling constantly. I have the number memorized. It's usually just a quick flash off/on, just enough to mess up the clocks. Although it was out over 12 hours just a couple of days ago after a heavy thunderstorm. I just call and reset my digital wristwatch (which loses time pretty quickly) to the world clock then reset all the clocks in the house to it.

No clocks on batteries??

Btw, just get one of those atomic clocks, it'll save you some coin on the phone calls.

One of the drawbacks of OCD is that little things like that bug the hell out of you. Now that I've noticed it I check it every time I log on.

Yes, I have too much time on my hands today.
