I wish. It would sure beat having to write a 5 page paper on Neorealist and Neoliberal views on the recent negotiations with North Korea that is due in less than 12 hours, while on a belly full of sugary ass gatorade and hennessy. Spring break is only 16 hours away

I will see it Sunday.

my god that was a good movie....coulda done without the b.s. with the queen---if you've seen it, you know what i mean----but other than that, i was shocked that they actually made a movie the exact way the book was. i have no less than 4 books about the hot gates that i've had for years and 300 is by far the coolest, and to see it on screen was f'n awesome!!!

the fact it's based *loosely* on a true story makes it even better.

MOLON LABE!!!

Question 1:  Any of you see it on IMAX?

Question 2:  Any problem taking a reasonably mature 14 yr old boy?

I've been Soooooooo worried that the movie would be a letdown compared to the kickass trailers - I'm glad to hear it's not!  I can't go until the 12th =(  But i'm looking forward to it.

I saw it at IMAX, was amazing.

I dont know, tons of gore, is he good for heads and limbs and blood flying every which way? One sex scene, some tits. If he is mature I say let him go.

Not up to speed on the history of this, but please tell me there are no gay scenes. If it is just some dudes showing their asses thats fine, I can handle that, just no Brokeback going on. Don't beat me up to much on this. I don't know where I have been, but this was time I heard of this movie being liked by the Gay population. Alexander the Great was a BIGGGG disappointment. I could not even finish the movie. I knew the guy was gay, but a lot of that shit was going on in those times. All the blood, gore, and naked chicks in a movie can be cancelled out with one ass pounding scene.

Just got back from a midnight showing. The GF and I decided to catch "Wild Hogs" and I saw "300" had a showing. I was going to see it this weekend sometime, but she proclaimed we would see them both now. I made a compromise. So, we saw both.

I really need to read the book and study on it.

This will make it into the archives along with BHD and others.

Awesome flick.

Getting the book and studying on it will be two separate things.  The book and movie are NOT historically accurate (and they never claimed to be).

How bad was the nudity? I heard it has both male and female.
How was the language? Curse fest or nominal?

How could he have? It's in the Movie Forum. No one goes there...

I was originally indifferent about this movie. I love the history and I love Frank Miller's graphic novel, but I figured Hollywood would manage to fuck it up. Glad to hear that isn't the case.

Those who have seen it, can you help me with one thing? I am likely going to see the movie in a week or so but need to know what the crap the monster dude is...? The one that I don't recall at all from the graphic novel, that looks like he stepped off the cover of a Tool album...

The big fat guy with the "lobster like" claws?  Or the bald guy with the sharpened teeth that they have chained up?

The lobster guy looked like he had his arms removed and replaced with a big sharpened piece of whale jaw bone.  The bald guy was just a freakishly large Immortal.

The midnight showing at my theater was packed.  They opened 8 screens, the largest yet.  Spiderman 2 was on 6 screens.  Keep in mind I live in a very small town.

The nudity (boobies and almost pie) and sex stuff is, IMHO, too much for a 14 yo. The gore? Not so much

?????? how, what, huh?

Anyway

I was definitely impressed with the visuals. A few times the blood came at you on the screen, it almost felt like I was watching it in 3-D.

I'll probably go see it again in a couple of weeks, when the theater is empty. Somebody's cell phone battery was low and it kept beeping, yet they wouldn't turn the damn thing off. And a guy directly behind me sounded like his nasal passages were about 10% open. He was a very heavy breather, like he just got done running a marathon.

I liked the message. Also there was no lib BS (that I could tell), no man on man lovin, 4 sets of boobies exposed, and plenty of battle gore.

Absolutely Incredible.

One hell of a movie.

Visually stunning, soundtrack is appropriate for the movie...I wanted to jump into the movie, grab a sword and BE a Spartan.

A Must Go See!

The Queen is bad ass too, second to King Leonidas.

ETA:  Morale of the movie:

Freedom Isn't Free!!

Others pay for it with their lives....

I watched it.  Gave me a whole new appreciation for the situation, especially a new appreciation for the naval situation that was going on during the land war.

Just ass kicking that kicks ass that, while said ass is getting kicked, is kicking yet more ass that's hitting someone's balls with a hammer made of ice but the ice is frozen whiskey.
