Frank O. Gehry is a fucking genius! Even if you don't like the looks of that building you have to appreciate the complexity of the structure.

Frank Gehry is a f#%king A$$hole! Have you ever met him? I DOUBT YOU HAVE. Otherwise you'd know this fact.
As far as the complexity of his structures, he didn't even do 0.0% of the structural design of his buildings. His FIRM did. I like SOME of his buildings, but for the most part I hold a personal grudge against him. He's the second biggest jerk I've ever met! I see the Weisman Art Museum EVERY DAY, and it's one of the few that I like. However, he only does the initial sketches of his projects, writes down some of the theory, and passes it on to his staff who does ALL of the structure, and working drawings. Gehry's merely an artist. When it comes to ARCHITECTURE it is his FIRM that truly made him famous, and he never gives them recognition for their conversion of his ideas into the reality that made him famous.
Don't get me wrong, I like some of his buildings, but I have very little respect for him PERSONALLY. I respect his firm's employees FAR more than him.
BTW, have you seen his HOUSE!? OMFG!!! What an abomination of his approach to deconstruct the box. He clearly did it to pi$$ off his neighbors (who live in a more modernistic area), and AFAIK he succeeded admirably. I mean really, who drapes chainlink fence across his bedroom windows on the second floor of his house? WTF?
This is in no way meant to flame you, merely stating my opinions of the egomaniac. His work on the Weisman is VERY nice, but like I said, it is his EMPLOYEES that make his drawings a reality.
The Weisman was a mere sketch/crumpled NAPKIN until he passed his idea onto his employees! Then THEY made it into this amazing building which is FANTASTIC when the summer downtown skyline reflects off it during twilight:
