It was reported on CNN News that the lawyer seen in their earlier report had been arrested, I don't know how to link to that. Other than to point to the >>>>> TV.

I was wondering about him.
What's the story with all that? A couple of days ago they WERE forcing people out and would tackle/arrest them if they resisted, now they turn around and say, "No, just kidding guys, y'all can stay right here." Am I missing something? |

His real name is Ashton O'Dwyer, a 57 year old attorney who resides in the Garden District.
A fellow with some real roots in that City. I know a couple of folks who know him professionally. Here is the transcript from his video..... O'DWYER: Has your neighborhood ever been invaded by state troopers from another state sent here by god knows whom? SIMON (voice-over): Many of the people continuing to stay in New Orleans were told time was running out. Ashton O'Dwyer is an attorney, but says he'll defy any order requiring him to evacuate. O'DWYER: I will leave when I am dead, OK? Let them be warned. They come to my house, they try to evict me, they try to take my guns, there will be gunfire. SIMON: With his house intact and with plenty of food and water, O'Dwyer cannot understand why folks like him are being forced to leave. O'DWYER: Treat me with benign neglect. Get out of my neighborhood, get out of my life, get out of (OBSCENE WORD OMITTED) city. SIMON: And there were plenty of other fireworks, as officers went door-to-door looking for holdouts. The 'voice-over' is Dan Simon, of CNN News. There is no news from anyone who I know whether this good man has been arrested. Sometimes, just sometimes, lawyers can be useful, you know!
I would send the fellow some cash...possibly a few weapons...but he is pretty well off from what I hear. But not as well off as some of his colleagues who live in 'Audubon Place.' There is no mention in any of the articles I was able to find of any arrest. I am also disgusted by the confiscation order in N.O. but it did not surprise me at all. Plan accordingly.
