What you ask?  Try doing a bearing/brake service on a M35A2C 2-1/2 ton truck using only basic hand tools and pulling the duals/hub/drum off in one piece.

Despite the 300 pounds of tires-wheels-hub-drum, it really is easier that way.  But it is a snap with a wheel dolly, of which we did not have.  And without brakes, we couldn't move the deuce to where one could be used.

No blood was lost or skin redesigned.  Oh, and the best way to keep grease out of the brakes?  Don't pack the hub full of it in the first place.  There was about 10 handfulls of grease in the hub, virgin Grease, Automotive and Artillery.  Yeah, the rumor I heard in the Army was this was for "combat repacking".  But in reality, it just overloads the bearings which then pump it into places where it should not be, like on the brake linings
.  Yeah, that is football bat fucked up.  If it really bothers you, keep a tub of GAA in the OVM box.
