"Raffle" Donations for my 11 month old niece with cancer - Giveaways

Update 03/30/10, Penny's Birthday!!!  She did get to go home last night and is able to spend her birthday at home.  The hospital sent Oxygen with her just in case.  I think she has to be back at the hospital Thursday or Friday for her next treatment.  I will post more when I can get it.  Working midnights does put a glitch in getting current information.

My 11 month-old Niece, Penny, was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuro-Blastoma cancer in February 2010.  Any and all prayers for her recovery are appreciated.  Bills are mounting and her Mom and Dad have created a non-profit fundraising website, Pennies4penny.org.  You can read all about her and what she's going through at the website if you want to follow along.

She's in Children's Hospital in San Diego CA, I'm out here in TX and we're trying to do what we can from here.

There was already an auction on their website and people have been making donations, along with prayers and well wishes.  I know that we have a GREAT group of people here, and wanted to hold a raffle to raise money  to help with the cost of bills and allow them to focus on Penny getting better.

Please feel free to spread the word about Pennies4penny.org and put it on your facebook, twitter, or any other account you want.  The more we can get the word out the better.  There are also T-shirts and bracelets available directly from the website if you are so inclined.

This is how the raffle will work though.  I have created a special payment account ChristinaATpennies4penny.org (replace the AT with @) at p@yp@l.  All payments that come into that account will be given a raffle ticket at the rate of 1 ticket for every $10 donated.  Please send the payment as a “gift” and include your Arfcom screen-name in the field.  Do NOT put "RAFFLE" or "Tickets" anywhere, just "DONATION" and your screen-name due to problems with the payment service.I will write screen-names on tickets and place the tickets into a container, with the winners to be drawn on Friday April 9, 2010.  Last chance for buying raffle tickets will be 5 PM Central Time, which is the time zone here in Texas.  I will have my kids draw the winning tickets and have the winners posted by that night.

The following items are what I am posting up for the raffle:

Grand Giveaway:  Springfield Armory XD-45 Tactical 5”.  The gun is not NIB, but has had less than 250 rounds through it.  The gun comes complete in the hard case with 2 magazines, magazine pouch, holster, and mag-loader, just as it comes directly from Springfield Armory.  Item must ship to FFL, and if you are unable to own hi-capacity magazines where you live, I will purchase 2 10 rounders to replace the hi-capacities before shipping.

We don't know if she's going to be okay in the long run yet or not.  There are a couple different types of cancer, some more aggressive than others, it's my understanding she has the less aggressive type, but while in the hospital she also caught RSV, and had a lung collapse.  She went on life support last Thursday night, but is now off the life supports and breathing for herself again.

Every day is a new challenge.

this kind of stuff just absolutely breaks my heart.  she will be in my prayers and i will add her to our prayer list at church.
