The Dallas Morning News reports the jury deliberated about four hours before deciding on its verdict. The indictment accused Duntsch of wide-ranging malpractice that included improper placement of screws and plates along patients' spines, a sponge left in another patient and a major vein cut in another. Records also showed that he operated on the wrong part of a patient's spine, damaged nerves and left one woman with chronic pain and dependent on a wheelchair.

Just to be clear, this is Texas' best neurosurgeon?  Mother of all fucks.  If this guy was the best, who's the worst?

When your medical care becomes nothing more than a commodity that is bought/sold like a toaster or tv.

"This one goes in your mouth, and this one in your ass... no! wait! This! one goes in your mouth and this! one goes in your ass."

You show me the best at anything, person or object, and I'll show you a solid track record of failure getting there or staying there.

This guy deserves to be in prison, from the stories I have  heard about his surgeries.

And the scariest part is that someone has an appointment to see him tomorrow...."  --G.Carlin

What do you call the person who graduated last in their class of med school?

Doctor.

Somewhere out there is a police officer that scored the minimum proficiency in firearms, defensive tactics and academics racing to your location to save you from a thug that has in his lifetime of crime been in dozens of fights, shot several people without care and is currently not in a rational state of mind due to drug use and sociopathy....

And yet is still called an officer with powers to arrest and take a life and decide a persons projected fate in life.

Surgeon are people too. I've never met anyone who didnt make a mistake at work.
Even the best fuck up.  As a patient you can do all the research, check the background and history of previous patients operated and in the end it doesn't matter.  When MDs cry about malpractice insurance and its high price, they are right that shit is outrageous. Because a slip of the hand and it can cost millions.
Just a simple snip or a screw a turn too much, a fight with the wife the night before and your MD can turn you into a cripple.
I've got the tee shirt.
