I won't strap on a sword. But I'll be tempted to strap on my KBAR the next time I go to my favorite range in Texas.

I thought that was a legitimate lawyer at first. Well, as legitimate of a lawyer who would make a video like that could be.

the category 'illegal knife' (blade length, double edges) goes away, and formerly illegal knives can be carried openly in public.  some location-specific regulations: basically the no-carry places for CC.  check the statute for further detail.

Tomahawks will *not* be legal to carry on 9/1 though - they are "clubs" under Texas law.

Could a tourist open carry a sword on Texas sword day or is it dependant on having a CCW/residency in Texas?

For some reason in my mind firearm carry is nice and a useful tool but sword carry would be a level of awesome I can hardly fathom.

I will be rockin' the Gerber MK2.
I did historical reenactments 20 years ago and
carried a sword then.

No need to be a Texas resident or have a LTC.  Make darn sure you know what locations are off-limits though - carrying a "location-restricted knife" in a bar is a 3rd degree felony.  There are a number of other off-limits locations as well.

Can we not get a group buy on thousands of "decorative" swords and just air-drop them all over the place? We could "De-Millenialize" then whole nation in less that two weeks. The best time to start doing this was yesterday!

ETA- I has a forged "Spartan Sword" that I can Leonidas somebody with if the occasion calls for such.

This 1860 US Naval pattern is also nice.

I seriously doubt I will ever carry a sword on my belt, but it's nice to have the option.

I kept almost buying a sword or mega-knife for just such an occasion. but my wife got sick and is out of work at the moment, so pretty sure the novelty blade purchase will have to wait. I may just go to walmart and get a $5 machete as a place holder though...

Is there any kind of open carry gathering one might be able to go to on Texas sword day
