Very cool!  Is this your trade or a hobby?

You know, I'll be needing to furnish a house in the future and will be just across the way in Kentucky.... [:D]

A-G-T-F[;D]

I am trying real hard to like you man but you aint helping.

The bed shown was his design adapted from pictures in farmers almanac. You can't see the Godsmack symbols at the bottom or the special rails that are my design for absolute no squeak performance.

Aimless, I wish I had a buisness. Hell, I wish I had a good shop! I'm working out of a building that is no shit about the size of a large walkin closet. It was a jet ski shed in a previous life.

I do have a booth at a little hole in the wall consignment shop in Fayetteville Tennessee though. As of now, I'm trying to make that leap into the buisness world but need to find a way to get to the customer. I'm afraid that if I go with a website I wont be able to keep up. I know my limitations and would like to keep it a part time thang. I aint quitting my cush gig at the rocket factory. My goal is attainable and practical. If I can sell a few beds, tables, etc. a month then I'll be a happy camper. The trouble around here is there is no market for the nicer things in furnishings. Pressboard furniture is good enough for the folks around here and it usually out lasts the marriages.

The main thing that is killing my buisness is everytime that I make something, my nag has to have it. My house is full of this stuff!

Hey Pangea!

How much for a king size just like your sons?

Thats the coolest thing I've ever seen.

Probably out of my price range but I will be buying a new bed soon.

Shoot me an e-mail if you like.

Aimless I would very much appreciate any and all help that you could give me. I was considering an attempt to peddle my wares at the monthly craft show and flea market in Nashville. It's a one weekend a month opportunity with about 1500 various vendors and a crowd of about 50,000-100,000. That might suit my needs better than a show room. Practically no overhead and cash sales.

cretescreeder, thanks for the compliment. I make beds for people that they design most of the time. That one is my sons and I wont make another one like it. If someone wants me to make a bed by their design, I will, and they can rest assured that it will not be duplicated and mass produced. If you look around on the net and check prices you will get a feel for what it takes to get a production line bed. Anywhere from $550-$1200 for nothing fancy. The bed shown above with the butterfly inset is about $850-$950 at most sites. I can beat that by 20%.

A good place to look is www.grace-collection.com .  Nice stuff priced at a decent rate. Shipping is what will run the money up. There are several good wroughtiron shops in Tejas. Ask around and get back to me. I'll be glad to help you. Thanks all.

Go ahead and start a website. IMHO, and from EXPERIENCE, websites do not usually generate 'that much' business for artistic fabrication.

However, they are an awesome place to show-off your skills and people can get a good idea of what you're capable of. Plus, if you get an 'easy-to-remember' website name it helps even more.

It also looks good on a business card and the second thing people will always ask is, "Do you have a website?"

Aimless, the Nashville Fleamarket is held once a month at the Nashville County Fairgrounds. Next weekend for this month. It seems to be held the last weekend of each month except for December. I have talked to several people who have been there and one vendor. It's a large event.
