At 3 o'clock it was 74* here in Fort Worth. Now at 6:20 it's 32* and headed for ~20* tonight.
Expected wind chill overnight at 4*. Yeah, I now 20* ain't that cold compared to where a bunch of y'all are...but a 42 degree temperature drop in such a short time is pretty amazing. YMMV. |

70 to 30 in one hour here in NM.
50+ mph wind gusts to go along with it. |

35 or so now, 4 inches of snow last night. 11 2 days ago. Supposed to be 60 in a day or so.
We were out on the boat scalloping in t-shirts the day before Christmas last year. |

I'm north of you OP. It is 14 here and has been 15 since noon.

|
Whiners, the lot of you
I had to do traffic control at an intersection today for about 2 hours. Temp was about 3F with a light breeze at the time |
|
20 degrees and I'm still wearing a light sweater. We're sitting at -1 right now going for -20 tonight.

18 degrees here in Tulsa. We're freezing out asses off and apparently the snow and sleet are covering the streets. I'm in a show until 22:00, so it's going to be bad on the drive home.

We have iced road in Kansas City since yesterday. Highways been blocked and shut down in some places this morning. Not getting any better and colder now. Going from about 24 to -1. Church got canceled due to the ice and snow for tomorrow.

It was in the 70's earlier today.
Now it's 19 here in Hobbs NM. Windchill is -7 |

I was born and raised in hot climates. I like it hot. The cold sucks ass. The dumb ass dog loves this shit, however.

It was 55 today.
That is cold AF, heart of winter time shit for us San Diegans. Supposed to be down in the low 40s tonight. Hope I don't freeze to death. |

I had a strange thing happen today.
I was driving south on I-65 approaching Seymour, Indiana when all of a sudden, like in 5 or 10 seconds, all of the glass, inside and out, frosted over with haze and I couldn't see a thing. I had to quickly wipe the inside of the windshield and turn on the wipers to keep from hitting something. I've never had that happen before. It seems that I drove into an abrupt temperature change, from cold to warm and moist. It sure got my attention in a hurry. |

I started work (outside) at minus 20 this morning. It warmed up to 5 throughout the day....
I'm sympathetic. |

-22 tonight with a wind chill of -42. That is pretty cold even for us here in the Twin Cities. They actually changed how they calculate wind chill factor about a decade ago. We would be -50 or more with the old system. The old system was more realistic to me. That cold wind just rips through you.

A buddy busted his leg skiing and I ended up feeding his beeves. That was amazingly chilly, standing on a trailer forking hay off of round bales, running to get in the tractor to turn it all around and head back the other direction, and climbing back onto the trailers to keep feeding. I was a shit-cicle by the time it was done. I feels your pain. |

The US Weather Service in Austin - SA posted this a few hours ago.
3 PM Apparent Temperature across the nation (courtesy www.mesonet.org). This is the "feels like" temperatures taking into account wind chill and heat index. There is currently a Wind Chill of -12 in Dalhart, TX and a Heat Index of 95 in McAllen, TX. A 107 degree spread in apparent temperature across Texas! 107 degree spread is pretty big. The 75F side of things sure felt best. |

Temp here went from 64 to 46 in about half an hour. Had a couple windows open and it was easy to tell when the front went through. Nice warm air was coming in the living room and going out the kitchen, stopped for a few seconds then started coming from the kitchen and it was like standing in front of an air conditioner.
Earlier today we had 3 severe t-storm warnings, a couple tornado warnings close by, tornado watch that just ended, along with a couple of other minor weather advisories. And now we're under a winter weather advisory until tomorrow and a flood advisory for a couple more hours. |
