As of today i am going to completely stop my other hobby and just concentrate on firearms and related items. No more horror/sci-fi movie memoribilia. I plan on EBaying the majority of my collection and using the cash towards weaponry. With a baby coming in a few months i am afraid as a young father it will be a few years before i am financially okay enough to have more then one major hobby. I will be keeping some stuff...

1.Original Dawn of the Dead movie poster signed by original cast and Japanese imported figures.
2.Original 1978 Kenner 18 inch tall Alien figure
3.My McFarlane Movie Maniacs Series One

It also has come to my attentio that the toy compant NECA is making a bunch of toys from the original Dawn of the Dead. These are only going to be bought as training aids for the upcoming zombie plague.

Well, my truck is 12 years old, has 300,000 miles and you can only get in and out of the passenger door.

My TV is a 20" Sony I bought in 1990.

My driveway is more mud than gravel.

I could go on, but I will stop.  I will say about 10 years ago I bought a rifle for me for my birthday.  On my next birthday, I decided the same thing...and I decided I should have one for every year old that I am.  I counted last night and now I have two for every year old I am.

Anyway, my priorities are kinda screwy at times, but when push comes to shove, I figure I could always sell the guns.  Nobody wants to buy a 15 year old TV, I could finish the driveway if I get ready to move, and the truck still gets me there and gets me back, you just have to climb over the seat on the way.

I was gonna buy a small bass boat, bought guns instead. Sold my dirtbike and street bike, bought guns with the extra cash. Years ago I bought a huge bag of dried beans and a huge bag of rice and some multivitamins and ate only that and didn't buy beer for a couple of months so I could save up some money for a pistol and rifle I wanted.

I haven't bought a new TV ever in my life and the two I do have my mom gave me when she bought new ones at her house over ten years ago.

BUT, with a little help from what self control i may or may not actually posess, one more 1919 and i am THROUGH buying firearms until  2009.

i have resolved to pay off my credit cards and put towards a new camaro in '06-'07.  but you know, you can't just have a parts kit laying around taunting you so it must be built first.

I gave up racing mountain bikes. It wa shard but I thought that what with all the pain that comes with racing there had to be more to having fun. Wha-la, guns. Now I am having trouble keeping them all in the safe. Stuff falls out when you open it and the woman is always bitching about it.
I do still have my bike though. I even ride it once in awhile just cause I shoot better when I am in good shape.

Cut way back on the golf, but mostly since it's more fun when drinking beer...I sorta miss the beer sometimes, but I dodged a bullet way to long, my luck was getting kinda thin.

Time for other hobbies, I still ride dirt bikes and mountain bikes for fun. Don't race BMX anymore or do martial arts.  Mostly money though, O well I would have just blown it on something that would be worthless now.  Still got the guns and could sell most for what I paid.

i dont buy computer upgrades, its been 4 years already, ...and i love PC games...

i dont buy random crap anymore....

I dont play paintball anymore (too expensive, real guns are cheaper)...

i piss my girlfriend off ALL the time, along with my parents when I buy new guns, ammo, accessories...because its a 'waste' of money or it could of been spent on them.. (gf wants me to take her to dinner and a movie for each new gun i buy)...

This is how I handled that:

1) Got her interested in firearms--she is not that interested in shooting, but after buying and selling some for sizeable gains she got interested in that.

2) I buy her a new gun each time I buy one for me.  Tell her that the gain will be good if she holds on to it for a couple of years.

I use my guns to finance the purchase of other toys such as the '04 YZ 450 I bought earlier this year. Boy was the ole lady mad when she came home and saw it...

Just the money I could have used for other things...

Or the time I spent earning the money I then used for toys and accessories.

Basically, I don't feel I've given up anything... That would imply regret. I have no regrets, particularly with regards to firearms. I had a battery I wanted to get and have purchased it. Now I just want some "icing on the cake" (high quality hard fit 1911, for example)

Nothing as of yet.  But I realize how much "dating money" has been going into guns rather than into dating.  I'm in grad school so women are pretty much a useless distraction right now.

That and the last one was skipping her birth control to try and get pregnant without my consent.  Just a tad skittish now.

For guns, I get the joy of enduring

-a kit built computer that is 8 years old
- that fails to boot 50% of time
- with a broken cd player
- with a unusable floppy drive
- with a dead sound card
- with a mouse where the left button is dead
- and monitor that is 11 years old and has lost a color,
- and a printer that is 11 years old.

She loves shooting, her favorite is AKs in 7.62x39 (first she loved my Vector AK, then my SAR-1)...she isnt a big fan of .223 and 5.45 AKs, go figure....

Eventually I will buy or make her an AK of her own, she likes to clean rifles, and shes very particular about it all...so that works out well.  She actually WANTS to help me clean them when I return from the range with her (sometimes haha).

FWIW, at the Salvation Army store here, they have a ton of CRT monitors for about $25 a piece.

have mice for $1 a piece.

Quit putting money into building my truck. Sold off a few 4x4s I used to run, [79 bronco and 76 FJ40 Land cruiser] Still have the built Rango but truth is vehicles are a poor place to spend money and cost$$$ even if they sit there. I did double my money on the Land Cruiser [bought for $3500 kept 4 years sold for $7500] and cleared about 1K on the Bronco.

I do miss the Land Cruiser as I had build a custom 1/2 cab out of a old top and it was a bad ass toy running 35" tires and a 5" lift. Painted in 1955 Robin eggs blue.
