Quoted: Pretty sure Paisley is an Obama supporter. He rolls in O's direction, but seems to not be a douchebag, and one hell of a guitar player |
|
I know he's a big paintball player. Him and Bill Shatner play alot. Don't know how he feels about real guns though.

Quoted: Pretty sure Paisley is an Obama supporter. It's about his guitar playing not his political affiliations. |

I know him and all of his band. Most all have AR15's including Brad. Justin Williamson (fiddle player) has a couple AR 15's and suppressors.
And in the words of Randlel Currie (the steel guitar player), when I asked him, "So how good is Brad really"? He replied, "He gets around it pretty good" Dont read to much into the Obama support, because it anit much there. Politics is far reaching, end of story. |

He's good but the man needs to get out of his bubble. His music all sounds alike.

He played one of the casinos and we went. It was a small show compared to what they normaly play.He can flat out play the hell out of it.

I'm only familar with one of his songs and don't see what's so impressive.Granted, country is one of my last genres of choice but the local indie-pop-folk-hippy radio station was playing what I guess is his Obama supporting song.IMO it's kind of like any kind of pop song, catchy enough to get stuck in people's heads but nothing spectacular in terms of music.I'm also not going to judge everything about him on one song, nor do I particularly care that he supports Obama.I did cringe when I went to a punk show and saw H2Obama shirts, but just as much because I think it's dick riding and don't listen to musicians for their political advice.
As for the content of country music lyrically, plenty of Obama haters probably love "Song of the South" and "Born in the USA" and don't particularly think much of singing along with them. For the most part,it's pretty mindless and if you're getting your voting information off the pop radio, you've got other problems. Not that I think Lady Gaga could in any way do worse than Obama or anything. |
|
I saw him in concert with Reba and thought he was good. I wouldn't have known the difference but my buddy who is incredible on guitar and picking up on things musical let me know he wasn't anywhere near as good live as what he records

His songs are so fucking stupid. Isn't there one about picking ticks off of his girl? Regardless of his ability to play, I think he's a fag.
YMMV B_S |

Paisley is probably the most accomplished guitar player in country music. Maybe all of music.

I need to know more about his Obama support!
I like Paisley, but supporting barry is a dealbreajker for me. |
|
I love to play guitar, and enjoy attempting to play some of his songs. I have been working on my "chicken pickin" lots lately anyway, so I have been listening much more to his style of music/playing. |

He's a fantastic guitar player, and LOVES him some boutique tube amps. He's a big time gear nut.
The problem is, all of this is for naught on his studio recordings, because the band has been engineered and processed to within an inch of it's life. If you could drop him in a Memphis studio in say, 1971 before they had the ability to wipe their ass with Pro Tools, he'd sound like electric sex. |

The boy can freakin play a gettar awesome.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7y-Ipi1dnng&feature=related and when he teams up with Allison Kraus......goose bumps |
|
He sure as hell can play, he was my guitar teacher for about a year when I was about 12. I actually owned his first guitar and amp, it was a Honda Fame and small Crate amp.
|

He is an alright guitarist. He's got a good voice and can play while singing really well, but as far as his actual guitar playing ability, it's about average.
