I have a computer line that unfortunatly is listed in my name. The only calls I have ever got were people wanting to sell me something, so the other day I picked up a cheapo answering box and decided to have some fun. I shut the ringer off and left this message.
Hello!............................................You'll have to speak up I cant hear you!......................................WHAT?......SPEAKUP DAMMIT! I CANT HEAR YOU!...............would-you-please-speak-up?............Ahh Hell just leave me a message...(beep) So far I've got a bunch of hangups, some phones getting slammed down pretty hard with some muttering,and some with several seconds of confused silence. No more sales pitches though!

A Tom Mabe in the making. Good work. I hate telemarketers. When they ask for the 'lady' of the house, I put on of my little girls on the phone with them, then say something like "sing them a song honey" as I walk away.

Whatever they try to sell you or ask you about, just get quiet and then say in a serious voice - "We don't believe in _______. _______ are the tools of Satan." That usually freaks them out. I did it to a woman doing a survey about TV viewing. Apparently she was unaware that TV was the means by which Satan tried to invade our house
