Have a 2010 SHO   Runs and drives really well.  Never been a dogde fan, or even much of a ford fan.  But I would buy another SHO.   Need to trade mine in for a newer year.

MUCH easier to add power. For $500 you can add 25HP, for $1000, 50-100, You'll spank the sho & not even try.

For 1000.00 what adds 100hp??? The SHO'S are low twelves with a intake, tune and exhaust.

I was questioning the guy that said 500-1000 dollars would add 100hp to a charger. There is no way unless your talking a hellcat. Which doesn't compare to a SHO. As for a SHO, 1k would put you in the low twelves if not 11.9 ... that's was forced induction does.

Edit. Also I am knocking on 40's door so I am far from son, sir. Although I have owned every generation of SHO'S since 89. Well the 89 was a hand me down from my mom....

I dont track my car, but it is all over the internet of a 12 second car with a tune... to hit low 12's and 11's methanol injection is used... I believe the fastest SHO is 11.3

V8>V6 ecoboost

I have a 2016 Taurus, not a SHO though.  I fucking hate the interior.  They built a stupid-wide center console, and I have less room in the driver's seat than I had in a shitbox rental Chevy Cruze.  A fullsize car shouldn't be that tight.

I just bought a 2017 300C, sister ship to the Charger.  I traded in a 2006 300C Hemi AWD, which was also a great car for me.

Laughing at this guy.  You can't put 370 rwho to the rear wheels, dumbass.  The Taurus is either FWD or AWD.

I had a mazda 4dr turbo from 2009? I think (where the SHO came from more or less) and my ownership experience was less than stellar. Don't trust Chrysler as far as I can throw them. Kinda scratching my head as to why you are looking at those two.....do you have a wife and kids but still want a fast car etc or what?

That kind of power through a factory AWD system is going to be breaking parts left and right.

Personally, dodge has shitty interiors and chargers (and 300C's) are for dope dealers and rappers.

S H O with a downpipe, intake, MAP sensor, and tune.
The Tauruses are cool.

I HATE when people call them "Shows".

I don't have one. I hope to buy an ecoboost Flex this spring for a fun family hauler.

I simply have way too much experience with Internet exaggerators to believe that. It sounds just like "I can shoot 1 inch groups ALL DAY LONG with my chrome lined mil spec barrel and wolf ammo." I notice we already went from $500 in mods to get to 11.9 to 12s to methanol injection. Not sure how to do that for only $500

It never ceased to amaze people when I had my 97 Tauras SHO back in college and it had the factory small v8 badges on it. People would always say there is no v8 in a tauras, and I would reply yes there is, and it was made in conjuction with yamaha... The v-8's were a dog off the line but pulled like a freight train 45 to 100. Granted they were only like a 3.4l revving to 7800rpm. Still would outrun the 96 to 98 mustangs

Dual rotors must be scrambling your brain.

Had a 2010 SHO that dynoed over 400 lb ft with a dyno tune from Livernois and simple intake.  It was crazy fun looking at the expression of Mustang and Camaro guys after you blew their doors off.

I like the SHO but the Chevy SS with the manual is cool beans. The only thing that Dodge is good at is building V8 engines. Everything else they make is crap.

Or AWD RT
Link Posted: 1/28/2017 8:09:26 AM EDT
[#49]
Ok I'll explain. We need another vehicle. My wife has an AWD SUV already and I have no desire to buy a truck. I like fast cars, last was an LS1 Z, before that a '67 GTO with a 400. I've got to find a balance of wife happy with a family sedan and my 3 year old daughter and I happy off the line lol. Seriously all she wants to do while driving is "Punch it Dad" ... oh and keep the price around 15k.

So what I'm thinking is a SHO, Charger/300, G8 GT, newer Caprice with the 6.0, Genesis 5.0. Anything European would require an AMG or M5 and at that price would be 10 years old. A Supercharged Jag XF could work, but then I have the issue of some expensive repairs on these and the nearest foreign dealers 40-50 miles away.

To clarify I'm looking for 0-60 in under 6 and 1/4 under 14. Granted most of what I listed should work.
Link Posted: 1/28/2017 8:34:41 AM EDT
[#50]
Driven both a few times, no doubt the SHO has easier potential for big power but stock for stock it was a little boring compared to the RT. The sound alone from the RT makes it worth it
