http://teacherprobs.com/what-is-the-highest-rank-you-would-actually-achieve-in-the-marine-corps/
I made Captain. You’ve spent your time with your ass in the grass with the junior Marines. You command potential has been tested and you’ve been found worthy of retention amongst the officer ranks. You have the experience, steadfast loyalty of your commander, and a steely eyed gaze that will make Marines of lesser grade shit their pants! Because of your experience and proven leadership capabilities you have been entrusted with the lives of 200 Marines, don’t let them down! |

huh
You are “The Old Man”! You have proven yourself on the battlefield and the boardroom. You can work a room full of politicians just as well as you can motivate a parade deck full Marines! You continue to look towards the future while continually studying the past. You have done your time in our Corps honorably and are without question an exceptional leader. You have an appreciation of, and a desire to possess the finer things in life. Although your time amongst our active ranks is growing short, rest easy and confident that you have made a positive impact on all of those you have served with. Fair winds and following seas! |

Colonel
You are wise beyond your years and show potential for becoming a General (or future politician) one day! You will probably have already served for about 22 years and although you could retire, you love the Corps too much to just simply step aside. You are a graduate of “The War College” and are well versed in military tactics. You fully understand the “big picture” and how everything works together and with the command of about 3000 Marines at your back, you sir are a force to be reckoned with! |

Master Gunnery Sergeant
All hail ye who knows the more than the Sergeant Major!!!! When the SgtMaj needs advise, if he is humble enough, he will seek out the guidance of his fellow “E-9” within the unit (i.e. you!). You are the only Marine in the battalion with enough clout to say "Thats not really going to work for me SgtMaj" and get away with it. You have been serving in our beloved Corps ever since Christ was a Corporal, and you have the hash marks to prove it! You sir, are about as salty as they come. You speak your mind without a care in the world as to whom you might offend and are therefore usually one of the most amusing and/or motivating individuals around. Not only have you mastered all aspects of your given Military Occupational Specialty, but you also have the ear of the battalion operations officer and your advice will have a direct impact on the training of the Marines in your unit, the movement of your Marines on the battlefield, and the personnel that receive orders to and from your unit. You are the man behind the curtain, pulling the strings to make the puppet dance! |

Strange... My result came up as "Mattis."
I'm an AF guy, so that term is foreign to me. |
