Right now China cannot do shit about Taiwan, it would be the perfect time to declare independance. But instead they are going to screw around untill China IS capable enough to do something to Taiwan.. then they will cause a war if they declare themselves openly to be a free country.

I don't know. "Sovereign with parity" is generally thought of to mean independent.

Well, it would help if the world only superpower, that has historicly preached democracy and freedom, chooses to back a democratic free nation instead of a communist and evil country. Fuckin' trade.
