Just stick with Sopranos [b]HBO[/b](Sopranos carrier) is a major contributor to HCI(Handgun Control Incorperated). They are on the donators list at their website. I guess this means little, since every major news network act like HCI spokes-persons as well. They are probably un-published supporters. We just got a FOX NEWS affiliat(?) here in MN this week. I'll have to see how they do. |

Fox News is the least bad, but there's still plenty of anti-gun stuff there.
Liberals have full control of the media, make no mistake. They like to claim to be unbiased because they allow a few shows that give time to Liberty, but these are a small percentage of what's on the air. Plus, these shows are allowed because they know that they aren't enough to influence the people who have the REAL power. People like Ted Turner will never take people like Ted Nugent seriously. Pro-Liberty people have been set up very much like the Jews were in 1930's Germany. Constantly demonized and blamed for the problems in society. What a lot of them take for granted is our pacifism; they see that we don't desire violence, and mistake that to mean that we are UNWILLING to be violent, something that could not be said of the majority of the Jews. I don't think Grounded for Life was really anti-gun. They never said their kid shouldn't have a BB gun, just that they didn't think he was ready for one. After they saw he was being safe with it they allowed him to keep it. In the end it was taken away from him not because of his actions but because his Dad misused it.

I think I've been seeing Pro-gun patches in Jeopardy of all places, the other night 'AK-47' was in a clue (in a good way) and there was another one that I can't recall in that show, then a few months back the 2nd Ammendment was _correctly_ interpreted in a clue.

Does anyone remember last summer when it came out that the Office for Drug Control Policy(drug czar McAffrey) had been reviewing tv scripts to make sure they were sufficiently anti-drug? I wonder if the same thing might have been happening with guns and an "anti-violence" message?

"Dark Angel" had a great pro-gun episode a week or two back. The hot-chick main protagonist was sick, so her hunk-sidekick-mentor figure (who's in a wheelchair) had to defend himself from about six invaders -- and he did it with a whole arsenal of firearms! Unusually pro-gun for teevee, even if there were a few moments of silliness (such as a kid-sized bulletproof vest, and a vest that stopped a rifle round at close range.)

Am I the only person who thinks the wife of "Grounded for Life" has a hot bod?
Remember "Lethal Weapon III" when Mel's partner shoots his son's friend? And the partner shows up at the funeral to ask the mother for forgiveness and she slaps him on the face and says, "Just find the man who put that gun in my baby's hand!" So, the kid's an innocent baby and it's all the gun's fault? As I recall the kid tried to shoot both the cops! [:(!] |

I've watched some old episodes of MASH and couldnt belive how anti gun some of those were. In 1 of them Col. Potter and hawkeye are pinned down by enemy fire , Col. Potter returns fire and tells hawkeye to do the sameto which hawkeye refuses , he then gives the whole guns are evil spill. I could have just about fell over, your out numbered by chicoms and north koreans knowing you could easily be taken prisoner , the only thing that stands between you and the POW camp is a 1911 and you want to argue. If I had been Col Potter I'd forced him to give me his gun when I ran out of ammo , try to hold them off as long as I could , and if possible save 1 bullet , you know who gets it ... the guy who put me in this spot. Hawkeye was a wuss.[kill]

Actually I was thinking the opposite. At first they had reservations and constantly discussed how to take the gun away from him. Then when the kid was totally IRRESPONSIBLE with the gun the father failed to take it from him. After confiscating the gun, rather than explain to the child that his actions were irresponsible the father simply said the gun was dangerous. And the father shooting his dad in the ass? That show is an education in poor parenting and in this instance an example of a home that shouldn't contain a firearm. But then again, I'm not a parent. |

The Titus thing really pissed me off I have always liked that show, but then he tells me that the only reasons for owning a gun are killing a person, killing a lot of people, killing the same person over and over, killing yourself or killing defenseless animals. And then had the gall to call the russian immigrants "Lefty enemies of freedom"

stenmk1 that's what I'm thinking is happening. I hate to believe it but how long was it before they complained about the shows be "reviewed" by the drug czar? Even with the media being "pro drug rights" they took a long time, with a majority of the media being anti gun rights I think this would be accepted virtually without objection.
ChrisS that's exactly how I saw it. They were saying the gun was dangerous and they needed to take it away but not once did they teach him how to use it. I know its a TV show so they couldn't include that stuff because of time restraints but that is not what happened when my father gave me a BB gun. He sat me down and explained very seriously that this is a gun, this is NOT a toy. I was not allowed to shoot at anything but targets. If he had seen me shooting towards my brother (wrapped in pillows or not) he would have beat my ass with a switch, then his belt. He would then have taken away the gun, not taken the gun and shot my grandpa. Being irresponsible with a firearm is never funny. Imbrog|io you crack me up. LOL mattja she is definitely hot. |

This brings up a good point, and question that I have been asking for years now. If the media, and movie and TV show makers are so anti-gun. Why do they make all their money by espousing the "coolness" of violent behavior. The director of Leathal Weapon is very anti-gun, but his movies sold more Beretta's than any other marketing.
So if guns are so dang bad Hollywood, why do you turn a profit off of splattering blood everywhere and desensitizing our kids to violence? |

The Hollywood folks are in it for the money. They make a fortune selling violent trash and then slip in an anti-gun message from time to time just to show they're trying to do the right thing. Hypocrites, yes; scumbags, even more so. Remember, we're talking about people who will do just about anything for money. Money is their religion. |

Did anyone else see this a couple months ago?
One of those creepy late-night weekend shows, maybe "Outer Limits." Some ex-con wants to shoot his wife and goes to a gun show where the dealers are all winking and whispering at him as is so typical of gun shows. Ex-con buys oddball pistol from guy in parking lot, as usually occurs. Now, the fun starts. Every time he shoots his new gun it becomes more and more firmly attached to his hand. Blasting at everyone in sight, steel tentacles can be seen snaking up under his skin after every shot. Finally, pods growing in his skin burst open revealing additional ammunition. In the meantime, the guy from the parking lot gives an identical pistol to the wife's conservative-Republican type father, who is hunting the bad guy. Members of the posse remark how hunting men is no different from hunting animals. The wife's father starts getting attached to his gun, becomes much more primeval, forgets about justice, and finally just wants to butcher his son-in-law for pure recreation. After much reflection, I now feel that there are some very subtle anti-gun and anti-hunting messages concealed very cleverly in this story. But it would be great to have spare ammo popping out of your skin, though. |

Why is anyone surprised by the media elite? They live in a fantasy land, protected by armed [:)]bodyguards and fancy security systems. They feel guilt over this, and feel the need to overcompensate.
It is interesting to note that 85-90% of the "gangsta rap" b.s. is actually purchased by middle-classed, suburban white kids. I don't know if that fits in here, but it is still a really interesting factoid. Hollywood has certainly pulled one over on us. |

I quit observing a while ago, I got so pissed that all I watch now is Frasier (avoids most nonPC topics), movies, and TLC or Disc. Ch. (even they can be antigun, "justice files" is very antigun)
