TV Poll: Netanyahu for PM over Livni and Barak Combined

(IsraelNN.com) A poll taken for Channel One Israeli government television on Sunday showed that 30 percent of the public see Likud party leader Binyamin Netanyahu as the most appropriate choice for prime minister, as compared to 16 percent for Kadima leader Tzipi Livni and nine percent for Labor head Ehud Barak. Barak was the choice for defense minister with 42 percent, as compared to eight percent each for former Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz and former Chief of Staff Moshe Ya'alon.
Netanyahu was the also the choice for finance minister with 20 percent , as compared to seven percent for Avishai Braverman and six percent for current Finance Minister Ronnie Bar-On. Current Education Minister Yuli Tamir was preferred by 14 percent of those surveyed, as compared to former education minister Limor Livnat with seven percent and Livni with five percent.
If the Knesset elections were held on Sunday, the seats would be allocated as follows:
Likud-30, Kadima-22, Labor-17, Yisrael Beiteinu-16, Shas-10, United Torah Judaism and the Meretz-new left party-5 each, Hadash-4, the National Union, Jewish Home and Ra'am-Ta'al-3 each and Balad 2. Balad would be out, as would the Gil Pensioners party and the Meimad/Greens combination.
