I have files sitting on a zip drive thats saved in .wks

I assume this is a Microsoft Works file.  This computer does not have Works... and it won't open with Exel or Word.  Any alternative options left to me?  I was hoping to be able to download a 5 day demo or something of word to open these files and save them on Word...
