I work at a Bush campaign office in SE PA and the stealing and destruction of signs here is so rampant that at least 6 out of 10 people that walk in our office are there to complain about and replace stolen signs. One family member of a staffer that is in a local union reported that at their last meeting they were each given Kerry signs and required to bring back and equal number of Bush signs.

Virtually every Bush sign that I have seen appear on my way to work disappears in less than 3 days. One of our volunteers even had her 4'x8' sign that was bolted to the side of her home removed while they were away. It is rampant and disgusting.

This is taken place on top of the ransacking of offices around the country along with frequent harassment of volunteers and supporters.

I know this is a battle ground state but I wonder, is this happening in your area too?

*************
Seriously guys, its shitty no matter which side it is done to. Post elsewhere if you are going to promote baseless denigration of our right to free speech. This thread is a complaint against those acts, and targeting our opponents is no better.

Interestingly enough, I live in the socialist capital of the midwest and I see more Bush signs around than Kerry signs...hmmmm...

...not only that, but it seems that people are generally leaving them be. I am actually quite surprised.

Yea, here is WA also...its too common to be a fluke. I always see Bush signs spray painted with red (blood?). Also all the big signs get torn down. Systematic is a good word for it.

These fuckers have no respect for other people and their opinions, they are un-American traitors that try and block free speech- for that they should be punished severly.

ETA. I think I discovered a Tactic.

I dont see ANY Kerry yard signs but lots of Bush Yard signs..that almost always get vandalized, and I see alot of Kerry bumper stickers...odd. It is apparant to me that the Kerry campain purposely limited their yard sign distrobution so that Bush supporters couldnt retalliate by tearing down Kerry signs. Their car stickers are semi-permentant therefore they are hard to remove and would cause damage to the vehicle if there was any attempt to remove it, this would also hold a harsher legal penalty of vandalism on a vehicle- vice simply removing a yard sign which would have nearly no penalty. Ok if you are still with me, a car gets more eye time because its on the road. More eyes = more exposure and less seseptible to vandalism due to criminal vandalism law.

Think you got problems?
I live in a very Republican town which does have a typically liberal college.

There was a small Bush rally in the public park the other day at a patriotic sight where there is a small replica of the statue of Liberty, American flags, and a memorial to war vets KIA.

A man looked around and his Bush sign was gone.
He noticed some guy, (NOT from the college, but from out of town) slipping away with the sign.

He made the guy give it back after calling the police.
When the owner told the guy to wait until the police showed up, this Bozo PULLED A KNIFE ON HIM.

Bozo is in his late 20's, (old enough to know better) AND under arrest.

The local college kiddies are destroying signs, but are being careful about direct confrontations with people.  This is a "You little creep, I'll kick your ass" area, AND a Right To Carry area.

Most of these people prefer stealing or vandalizing signs, and won't face someone, since they're your basic back-shooter, barn burner, and dry-gulch types.

I agree, I too, have a problem with trespassing on other peoples property, stealing and destroying said peoples property, and all the other things that are required to be a Democrap volunteer. he

Now I'm NOT advocating that other people do this, but I thought that this was pretty funny.
A coworker of mine was driving home in New Jersey and noticed a whole line of Kerry/Edwards signs posted just a leeetle bit too close to the side of the road on the median strip.  Well, you know what happened next - a slight twist to the steering wheel and no more Kerry/Edwards signs!

Same thing in Ohio.

We believe just in our county, one third of the Bush signs are stolen. They just disappear. Even the large 4x8's are pulled from the ground on private property.

I've never seen it this wacky

Wow.  I frequent both counties, and I haven't seen anything like this - not to suggest that you're wrong.

Is it mostly in the Doylestown and Norristown areas, or all over?  My area (near Willow Grove) seems to be very live-and-let-live.

Actually, a Kerry sign just lets me know who my liberal neighbors are. I wouldn't even think about stealing someones sign.

Remember the golden rule. "Do onto others as you would have them do unto you. "

I'm west of Norristown.  I've seen it in Lower Providence, Upper Providence and Limerick Townships.  I'm having a house built up in Limerick and go up there everyday to check on progress.  I was surprised by the amount of Bush signs I saw during my ride, as I always considered the area very liberal, and was even more surpised when they started disappearing.

It must be the power plant.    Nuclear power plants tend to scare people who don't bother to learn about things.  I live 20 miles downwind of it, and it doesn't bother me a bit.

The extra arm comes in quite handy, actually.

Happened in my neighborhood last night, they stole a bunch of Bush signs and the ones that they didn't steal they sprayed painted them black. I think they should rig their signs with 220 volts , that will teach those fucking liberals. Liberals are the true domestic terrorists.

I hope you all see the trend here.   -- ??????

The liberals, with each recent passing election, are getting more and more abusive and even violent.  I'm serious.  They are so emotionally unstable that they literally have a "win at any cost" attitude.

If Bush wins, be very watchful for vengeance acts from the libs.   If Kerry wins, be very watchful for gloating acts of violence and destruction.

See the trend here folks? . . .

It happened in my neighborhood Saturday evening.  All the Bush signs along the road are gone.

I was pretty damn pissed.  My wife is going downtown to get another six if she can.  I told her I will the replace the one with two and if they take those four will replace the two.

I like the pepper spray idea, I have spray for my garden that is wicked.  Although hiding behind my garage with my AR would be more fun, spot lights and an AR chambering a round would be pucker factor extreme.  Damn dirty liberals free speech as long as you agree with them.

ARJohnson are you in Chester County?

Geiger1 back to lurking sends.

There was a spot on the 11 o clock news last night where some creep was caught on camera stealing Bush signs from these folk's yard. The reason they set up the camera is because they had a few stolen already. Some other lady showed her sign that somebody CUT UP WITH A KNIFE in her front yard. She said she was scared somebody was out there and so angry that they would cut up her Bush sign with a knife.

I got pissed so I went driving around today with 10 Bush signs in my car. I put up 7 of them in fields and handed out 3 to people I saw in their garages or in their yards. I would just ask politely if they would like a Bush/Cheney sign. Even the Kerry supporters were pretty polite about it. When I was putting a sign in a field an old timer asked if he could have one for his yard. Very good day indeed!!!

I am driving folks to to the polls tomorrow who are handicapped or disabled that have called the republican headquarters and asked for a ride to the polling place.

Those Skerry supporters can keep up their dirty tricks, it just pumps me up and makes me want to work harder.
