I just watched the first three episodesmand am going to watch the next four....

So far he has never claimed that. Bigfoot was real.....and goes on to explain what he thinks a lot of the evidence actually is...be it bear or nature etc.

So why do some many make it spound like he is claiming it is 100% real?

I don't believe in Bigfoot but I am entertained by the stories....

People who enjoyed survivorman are usually not people who believe in "Bigfoot".  To them, and me, we get that he is doing this show as a skeptic, we just think it's a waste of time, and on a personal note- retarded.

I enjoyed the series. He really slows down and goes over all explanations. He knows his stuff. Hopefully there is a 2nd season.

I have read posts where they say that Les Stroud claims Bigfoot is real....but I must not be watching the same show.

I'm a big fan of Les.  I hate the bigfoot shows because rather than him continuing with his unique show, he's giving us yet another mythical creature, monster, alien reality show.  It's probably the network's doing.

I've only seen a couple episodes but enjoyed them.

I think he adds a lot of legitimacy to the whole search for bigfoot thing, not in the sense BF is real but from a honest skeptic perspective.
I think I enjoy the thought that there are still things to be discovered more than I really care about BF one way or the other.

I've always enjoyed Les' work but he lowered himself with those Bigfoot episodes IMO.

Survivorman is one of the best shot, produced, and edited TV shows on the Discovery family of channels (that and Dirty Jobs and River Monsters).

Even if some of his situations were a bit staged, he was entertaining and fascinating to watch... especially the castaway and Labrador episodes.

To see him chasing the Samsquanch is bullshit. No one is going to reveal that Bigfoot is real at the end of a TV show run, it'd be revealed as news during the filming--and months before the episodes made it to broadcast.

In other words, if you haven't heard they found bigfoot by now, watching a 10 episode TV show about it won't change that fact.

Skeptics are angry, because they "know" bigfoot isn't real.

I've backpacked and hunted all over the Sierras for 30 years and have never seen a mountain lion, or even a track.  I am angry when people tell me they exist. If they had been out there, I'd have seen one.  Or 10.

Except that there is incontrovertible evidence that mountain lions exist

Because he slurps his food such that he sounds just like that fat black lady in the oral-sex demo video.

You're watching the same show, but most of the people who stated that Led claimed Bigfoot was real likely never saw the show in the first place.

Welcome to GD.

With the Ticaboo Creek uproar and now hunting bigfoot it seems he has jumped the shark.
Its all entertainment anyway.

I think his approach is reasonable and it makes sense if he s looking for evidence.

I don't think he s laughable rather I think people who claim Bigfoot is real are laughable.

How many times can you be entertained by a guy who goes out into the wilderness and survives for days on end, filming every little thing he does? The bigfoot episodes are something different - an exploration into the phenomena.

I find it fascinating and entertaining, and that's all I ask of a TV show that requires me to invest my time.

ETA: And this stigma of people who claim to have had encounters with a bigfoot are whackjobs needs to end. You weren't there. You didn't experience what they experienced. Who are you to say what it was or wasn't?

Mere sightings of mountain lions by Californian backpackers isn't enough.  I won't buy it till they bite me on the rumpus.
I should be drowning in cats here.

I've seen a couple of his shows. It never appears that he is "surviving," just "dying more slowly." He makes a couple of deadfall traps and gets 2 mice per day and struggles with water. I don't think he'd make it in a real situation.

Because there's no bigfoot. Second, if he had found bigfoot we would have heard about it before the shows aired.

I don't believe in Bigfoot...

But I won't make blanket statements or try to prove a negative

I think it has been awesome. And he started this whole story line based on his personal experiences.

Can't wait for more episodes.
