The first girl that broke your heart

When you get to thinking back, which is a long time for some of us and just last week for others, do you ever think about the first girl that broke your heart when you were a teenager?
You know the one. She ripped that sucker out and stomped it flat. I'm 51 and I still wonder about her sometimes. I was just 15 and she was the first girl with whom I ever fell in love. She had auburn hair and a beautiful smile. Long pretty legs and a nice fanciful lilt of a laugh. I thought that everything was forever then. I said something wrong, we quarreled and she dumped me. All those years ago. I tried to apologize but she wouldn't even talk to me. All I wanted was forgiveness. I'll probably die one day still wanting her to listen for just a moment. But she won't.

I found her.  She forgave me.  We're going to get married.

She wrote this:

I think you need to update this.

One day I wrote a letter to the girl that had dumped me because her parents (Mother) told her to.  If he only knew how much this girl loved him, and wanted to be with him.

In 1967 I obeyed my parents and I did what I was told to do.

One day I received a letter at work from him.  I didn't know what to think after 38 years.  The letter asked that if I could find it in my heart to forgive him; and if he could take me to lunch no strings attached.  I wasn't sure about all this, waited a few more days, then replied yes I will have lunch with you.  We met at the restaurant.  He walked in and smiled. What I saw was the young 15 year old boy that I had fallen in love with, as if time had frozen and we were back in 1967.  We talked for hours and when we left I asked him for a quick and short hug. We both went in our separate directions.  We met again for lunch and talked about our past and present feelings.  Neither one of us  wanted to leave.  I felt so safe and secure just being with him again.

Our love has grown beyond words. The way he looks at me, holds me; kisses and the makes love to me, I never knew what true happiness and love really was.  When we are together we totally complete each other.  The best part of all of this is that we are together again and planning a future together for the first time

I do love him with all my heart. Some day when we are no longer on this earth together, our children will know that we loved each other to the very end, which I hope is a very long time from now.  If for some reason it is only for a short while I will have known what true love is really all about.

Cool!
Long story short- My first love broke up with me for silly reasons (I was in 8th grade). We dated others throughout high school and shortly after. We got back together after years of separation. To date, we have been happily married for 13 years and have two great kids!!!
Good luck on your "new found" relationship!!! Milldude
