It was a good afternoon

Used a XD 5" with an Osprey can.  Ammo was a 230gr Federal HST.  Broke both shoulders, 2 ribs, both lungs, and was on the other side of Bambi just under the hide.  Very impressed...

Nice, I loaded some pull down HSTs and carried them during archery, but never have tested them on tissue.  They blow a clean hole thru a soft stump tho.
My buddy whacked a nice cow on Douglas pass 4th season with a AR10 and can.

He said it stopped under the hide.  Wouldn't have the bullet if it exited

It was a quartering shot.

entry - left side, about a foot mid level behind the left shoulder.    Left shoulder was broken (possibly when bambi fell), then it nailed both lungs (missed the heart), exited the right shoulder (and thoroughly broke it), and slid up the skin several inches until it came to rest just under the neck on the right side.

No exit wound.
