They've chewed into the house in two places. I can hear them up there at dawn every day. I've set half a dozen Conibear 110's baited with peanuts and peanut butter, and they haven't touched them. What kind of squirrels won't go for peanut butter?!

I used a trap with nuts bread and some cheese...I have an easy access attic so I would keep the food fresh.

Took me a week or so.

Keep a light on near the food.

I had two of those bastid's up there. Every night hearing them....

Yeah, go right ahead and do that.

And when he goes off and dies in your walls (or any other place you can't find him) you'll want to burn your house down from the smell it will generate.

Been there, done that with a possum that crawled up under my office and his last meal was a big tray of Decon.

I bought one of those.  I later found a squirrel nest just under it.  It was completely useless.

The solution I found that got rid of the two dozen or so squirrels that had made a home in my attic was to dump about four cups of powdered cayenne pepper around the attic.  It's worked for three years and counting.  They haven't returned.z

We stuck one of those things in a tank with a mouse and all it did was sniff, crawl around on it and take a dump.

Put a bunch of feed in the yard and get up early. Take them out with an air rifle.
The ones you don't kill will scatter. It may take a day or two to thin-out the herd.
Close up entry points when you think they are no longer in your AO.

Worked for us. I kinda wish I'd skinned them and kept the meat, some of them were really big.
However, I'm not really into wild game. It's too.....gamey.

Be careful of your back stop prior to ambush of tree rats with air rifle.

Happy hunting,

Flyer

Kill and mutilate one, then hang him by the tail at the attic opening as a warning to the other squirrels!

The rat kind of squirrels (squirrels in my area will Kamikaze into any trap to get peanut butter).

Sure it isn't rats? Rats are very neophobic. They don't go near new things in their environment for a while.
