I'd like to do a somewhat practical gift for my groomsman at my upcoming wedding and a folding knife came up as a good choice. I'd like to keep it less than $75 per knife and I would like something "unusual" that you can't pick up at a store. Suggestions with pictures would be appreciated. I'm also cross posting in the knife forum to see what they say.

Per the rules, picture of fiancee.

Something unusual?

The CRKT Nirk Tighe 2, get the blades engraved with initials. Classy but distinctive EDC blade.

Congrats on the babe OP.

Ammo can with knife duct tape, little booze samplers, a flashlight and para cord.

admit that my suggestion is the best

even the foreign pansy guy would realize this even though in his country there's no longer marriage anymore. just communes where they look at art films

and they give cheese as a gift

Not guilty.

Get bobble head dolls made from photos. Did a wedding this weekend, and the groomsmen gifts were just that. At first I was like ... then I was like

It's pretty unique and not something people would spend $70-80 bucks each on for themselves. Perfect gift.

edit: congrats.
Link Posted: 9/8/2013 9:38:27 PM EST
Not guilty indeed!

Instead of pocket knives how about a blast match for them all? Drunken groomsmen + firestarters = hilarious GD vid... lol
Link Posted: 9/8/2013 9:43:45 PM EST
When my buddy got married, he bought us each an Opinel and hand carved our name into it. I'm not sentimental about many things, but that knife is one of the few exceptions.

75 bucks will buy one helluva nice bottle of booze.

There are few things more practical, and few things more likely to be enjoyed down the road.

Well, it's not unusual but a Benchmade Mini-Griptilian is a really nice solid knife that will last forever unless you lose it.

In the same situation, I'd prefer something that said "Made in USA" on it.
Link Posted: 9/9/2013 5:37:53 AM EST
Make them yourself, and then make sheaths for them by hollowing out dildos. They'll be unique and never forget. "Hey dude, you've got a dick in your pocket", "It's a knife" "No man, it's a dick." "No thats just a sheath."

If you want custom made folders you better add a zero to that $75/ea. budget.

Weird knives are kinda cool, but I'd suggest a high-end Swiss Army knife. A friend gave me one when I stood up at his wedding. I've used it damn near every day for the last 12 years.

With a woman like that I'd expect your budget to be at least twice that. Good luck OP.

Make it something USEFUL. Something that will last a long time.

I was my best friend's best man, and he got us groomsmen each a leather toiletry travel kit. It's very well made with canvas lining and pockets on the inside. I use it EVERY time I travel. So it's useful, but not something I'm going to wear out in short order. It's also personalized with a little gold panel on it with my name engraved on it. I think initials would have been better, but I won't complain. I love it and use it every time I take a trip!
