This came from the other Mythbusters thread...

I do like how they warm up to the idea of using guns... It's no big deal to them and they seem to relish the chance to shoot without over dramatizing it.

I'll take the few errors (namely the tracer thing) in exchange for the overall good they're doing by making it look like Joe Schmoe is capable of using guns safely, without them just going off.

In fact, that should be a Myth that they bust: trying to get a gun to "just go off" the way the news (and some movies) try to make it look like...

BTW they'd never do the 5.56mm vs. 7.62mm or .45 vs. 9mm so keep those out...

I'll start things off: It would be interesting to see if they could prove or disprove the legend from the Korean conflict about the M1 Carbine not being able to penetrate the North Koreans' winter clothing due to sweat freezing in the silk undershirts...

What say you? What topics would you like to see Jamie and Adam (and Keri...

) take on - or re-take on?

I think along the same lines it would be great to get a group post going to thank the Mythbusters for their positive exposure/use of guns in the show?

We could then email them with a link to the post here at ARFCOM.

throwing ammo in a fire! when it cooks off, does the round go zinging through the air or does it just harmlessly *pop* off the case?

ETA: they could test the sawed off shotgun myth. we all know the truth but 99.999% of the rest of america thinks you get this enormous cloud of lead 1" from the muzzle!

An episode on military myths co-staring Gunny Ermy would be awesome! Not strictly firearms related, but military in nature to include firearms.

is a hollow point in a handgun more districtive than a softpoint or fmj.

I would say some silencer based topics.

Also, the silly 'racking a shotgun causes all criminals in a 1 mile radius to flee' line that comes around all the time.
