Aside from the usual like Rush, Hannity, Beck, etc, who do you guys listen to that are local to you and not necessarily big names?

The invention of the iheartradio app is pretty cool because I can listen to regional radio all over the US.

I've seen Howie Carr's name suggested many times since the Boston thing happened.  Who else is good to listen to outside of Southern California?

Alex Jones. He attacks the real issues that mainstream talk radio won't even think about covering.

Jan Mickelson and Simon Conway are my local guys both are excellent

The Norks have a shortwave station.

It's fucking hilarious.  It's like MSNBC with more talent.

Bob Lonsbury used to be local here. Now he's in Rochester. Good 2A, military supporter.
Link Posted: 4/23/2013 6:58:12 PM EDT
I used to listen to Neal Boortz out of WSB in Atlanta.

His replacement is none other than Herman Cain.  Cain is an absolutely terrible radio host, so I switched full time to sportstalk.

NPR works in a fix.

The Great One Mark Levin and for local I like Burnie Thompson here in Florida

Burnie Thompson
Link Posted: 4/23/2013 6:59:06 PM EDT
Mark Belling from WISN in Milwaukee 3-6PM CT
on iHeart
Subs for Rush occasionally.

Has a much "edger" personality on his own show.

I agree Herman Cains show is boring to listen too and gets worse every time I hear it.

Todd Schnitt, out of Tampa Bay.

He's owns AR-15s, handguns, has a CCW, knows the language and doesn't mind telling you that mag dumps are cool to do.

I've listened to him for 3-4 years.

Chris

There is some occasional ambiguous sexuality, but I believe it to be entirely unintentional and ironic.

Neal Boortz retired from the air in January and was replaced by  Herman Cain.  My local FM talk radio local station dropped Boortz as soon as he announced his retirement and replaced it with some idiot named Geraldo.  Luckily a low power station picked up the Herman Cain Show.

Good stuff.  Lots of suggestions, thanks all.

I've heard Neal Boortz mentioned a few times here, but never tuned in.  Looks like I'll have to give him a listen among the other suggested.

Well shit.

My favorite is Roger Hedgecock I like Mark Levine also

Local to me is Michael Medved in Seattle. I enjoy his show. Don't see eye to eye with him %100 of the time, but his show is very good. Jon Gibson on Fox Talk (Sirius/Internet) is also very entertaining.

I love Dennis Miller in general.  Anybody listen to his radio show?  Last time I tried to look it up, the times had changed and I had a hard time locating a good channel for him.

I seem to remember him saying he was in radio for 42 years.  Prior to that was a lawyer.

He's also a pilot.  Very cool, interesting guy.

Killed a cop and a cop killed him Never knew what to think of that guy but his shows were always interesting..think Alex Jones and George Noory combined

Weird man just weird! Supposedly some great "militia leader" well nobody saved him that night..he died alone and seemingly no one cared. Sad cause he was a Viet vet...a fucked up one.. but a vet nonetheless.

So I was looking up KTRH and I just tuned in now to listen.  The show on now is "Ground Zero".  I recognize the guy from an episode of Penn & Teller's "Bullshit" show.  Clyde Lewis seems like big time tin-foil hatter.  Is he liberal or conservative?

ETA: I'm assuming liberal but I switched off and started surfing other stations.

Dock Thompson

Used to be here in the Richmond area but I think he moved to Detroit. Now he's on The Blaze radio and sits in for Beck from time to time. Solid guy and pro gun all the way.

The local guys in Phoenix are not that good.  Sometimes okay.  Often it is like listening to John McCain justify his various positions, or pointless.

Andy Dean is pretty entertaining.  He's like the opposite of Rush, in that he is almost all guests he interviews.

My taste in talk radio is:

Rush

Beck

Andy Dean

Mark Levin

Roger Hedgecock

Dennis Prager

Local guy you don't know
