What's the difference between a 1911 and a 1991? No where does it distinguish the differences between the two.

Anyone?

80 might be right!  The 1991 is a series 80 after all.

The 1991 models were Colt's "budget line" of Series 80 1911's.  Series 80 refers to the firing pin safety that was introduced in the early '80's, along with the elimination of the collet barrel bushing that was famous on the Series 70 guns.
