I like the dark humor here

The Cav. was known for it's generosity, as you can see in this close up, we even shared our smokes with the enemy.

My stuff is like me - old and moldy. The SKS jams - thankfully. I have the bullet that was jammed in the chamber when I got it. The head stamp is bxn 53. The chamber on the gun is corroded. Its just a wall hanger. The pistol is Chinese made1964. It shoots very well. We cleaned out a bunker complex in Cambodia in May 1970. That's where most of the stuff came from.

Those are some incredible photos. Sad seeing "KIA" written next to all those guys in the pics.
I'd like to know the story on what happened to the M-48 that looks a little beat up on page 4.
That must have been a hell of a bang.

Cool photos, that guy took a lot of them.

That was a really high action area. There was a lot of armored work done in that area by the 25th ID.

The guy should get these hi-res scanned and get the colors tweaked to more realistic colors. Then he should do memoirs of his time in nam.

FANTASTIC images.

What were the xeon lights on the tanks used for? Just bright spot lights for night fighting?

That's a Czechoslovakian headstamp if you were wondering. Thanks for your service.

That describes a large percentage of the current Russian army.

That was a really high action area. There was a lot of armored work done in that area by the 25th ID.

I was with A Company 65th Combat Engineers 25th ID. 3/4 Cav, 5ht Mech and 11thr ACR were also in the AO.

Classic operation was to either lager in the jungle or return to a firebase at night. Most always in company strength. Tracks would get into an open area, wagonwheel, set up fields of fire, then wait. Always had a 81mm mortar track that provided illumination. The lights were used for sweeping tree lines and were effective for blinding bad guys but when the shooting started they were rarely used. It was too easy to put an rpg on one. there was an actual search light mos. Friend of mine was in a unit that did that. Side story, I was the gunner, mainly used a .50 on the turret, had twin M-60s mounted behind me. That way I could spin in the hatch and use the M60s quicker than the turret could rotate. We mounted these after my TC smashed a NVA's head with a .50 spare barrel. The TC turned to get another can of ammo and saw him on the deck, the barrel was closest thing handy. We were doing a mine sweep one morning when a infantry dude's rifle went off. He had it over his shoulder like Elmer Fudd. The bullet hit the search light between me and the TC. Bounced off the mount. Dude really got an ass chewing for that.

I thought about you while looking through the pics. Next time I'm up, if you're up to it, I'd like to see your pics if you have any.

p.s. say hello to C for me.

Come on up but i don't have any photos. Put them all in an album thirty or so years ago and they disappeared during move #five or six, most likely went in the trash. Nothing remarkable anyway. how's the fair skinned red haired beauty?
